In short: Harvel number 6 and a PW, but am I bovered?
In full: I was shocked to find that this was my 6th Harvel ranging from a 12th placed 29:17 in 2003 to 40:54 in 2010 after a bout of flu a few weeks ago. The course hasn't changed and although the field has doubled in size, it's still fine. The start is a little narrow for the first half a mile, but chip timing introduced this year has resolved any disadvantage that might have caused. About the only issue was that the promised (and previously provided) jelly babies failed to appear at the finish. Other than that - well done the hashers - see you next year?

In full: The first race I ever did and back yesterday for the fifth or sixth time. Perfect race for beginners as there is a good mix of abilities and the course is fairly flat with some great scenery and some welcome local support. HHHH have this about spot on, with a great atmosphere post race and some luvverly cold beer.... Not usually fussed about medals but this years was a real goody
Well done to all

In short: All that needs attention are the very small yellow travel direction signs. No good for those of us who are short sighted. Apart from that excellant.

In short: One of the very best races around-and it's getting even better !
In full: Along with the NDR (quick plug-not that it needs it !)this is my personal favourite of all the many excellent Kent races.

What makes it really special is the atmosphere.HHH and the whole village put on a huge effort and the village green on a sunny Summer afternoon, with its food stalls, beer tent etc and nearby pub and village cricket has something for everyone.

I've always felt this is the perfect first race to hook a beginner-as well as everything else,it's very friendly and supportive.

The hot, humid conditions made it harder than usual yesterday, but on a cooler day it can be pretty quick and it's always competitive at the front, with lots of good, local club runners.

Some traffic congestion is to be expected,as the village is only accessible via picturesque country lanes, but the new "one way" system worked well,I thought.

Another improvement this year was chip-timing and the "targets" in the urinals were a nice touch !

Overall-not to be missed.

In short: Great fun and well organised
In full: Watch Cymru v South Africa or run the Harvel 5? I did the run and it was the right choice. Excellent way to spend a saturday afternoon, great scenery, nice feel to the event and as i like bright shiny things the medal was tops.

In short: Great multi terrain run in beautiful surroundings
In full: I had read good things about this event so joined at the last minute and was really glad to have done so. Lovely village fete feel, everyone involved was happy and friendly. The course was a bit more challenging than I was expecting and the heat was killer! The WI tent was a God send, sausage rolls have never tasted better. I will definitely be back next year. Nice medal by the way and a complete bargain.
