In short: Did not enjoy this one! In full: Definatly not one i'd run again. running surface was mostly paving slabs that were hard on your legs & hips. 3 laps meant you could not tell if people overtaking were because you were slowing down or faster runners lapping you! Route became crowded at the start due to the fact that most of the race was on the pavements. Environment was boring, there is only so much urban housing estate you can stomach, and seeing the same views 3 times over was even worse.
Only benifits was that it is a fast course...so took a PB here and the facilities were reasonable.
In short: Well organised and very friendly marshalls despite the rain. In full: Not the most exciting of locations but great organisation and a pb made Sidcup a pleasant palce to be on a rainy sunday! Date of review: February 13, 2006
In short: Good race despite the rain. Well marshalled but timings seem to be out as my self. Two of us from my club tiimes were out 14 &30 seconds respectively. It was not bunched up at the start so it is hard to explain how the timings could be so out. Date of review: February 12, 2006
In short: Well organised and marshalled race In full: Done this one before and enjoyed today (even though it was raining). Good marshalls and facilities for refreshments etc as starts and finishes at a school. Date of review: February 12, 2006
In short: Great marshalls v. friendly even enjoyed the rain In full: Thanks to the marshalls who had to hang around for us plodders at the back. Changing/refreshment facilities were pretty good. Date of review: February 12, 2006
In short: Terrible weather which was made tolerable by the friendly marshalls In full: Nice race but not as flat as advertised (put it this way I wouldn't park my car on the course without the hand brake on!) Date of review: February 12, 2006
In short: Quick, Well Organised, Friendly Race In full: This is without doubt a quick and well organised race. The marshalling is excellent, the atmosphere is friendly and there are more than adequate changing and parking facilities. Also, there is the bonus of the tes, coffee, chocolate, sandwiches for sale afterwards, oh, and a nice medal at the end.
I only have two things to comment about, it would have been nice to have had a clock at the finish line showing the race time. Secondly, is it not possible to stop people driving out of the car park until the race is over? I know there is a large gap in abilities of runners, but everyone pays the same entry fee. You don't see 7 or 8 cars trying to get out of the finishing straight when the first few runners are finishing, so why is it acceptable to do this when the last few are finishing. I find this very rude and insulting. I always stay to the end to cheer on the last of the runners, (finished in approx 70 mins) and had an hours drive home, and if we can do this, so can others!
Will be back next year though. Date of review: February 12, 2006
