In short: Wet and windy but enjoyable
In full: Really horrible weather this year; wet and windy but not too cold. Nice course with a couple of inclines - but nothing too difficult. The marshals deserve a special mention for being really friendly and cheery on such a wet day.

In short: Lovely course-leafy lanes,off-road bit,posh school,no killer hills
In full: Fantastic race - despite appalling weather (was better for 2nd half of race) really enjoyed this - great organisation - many thanks to marshalls/helpers/spectators - got a PB by 6 mins so well pleased with that. Agree medal and water for money the only slight down side compared to other goody bags.

In short: Excellent event with fantastic local support
In full: despite the terrible weather, I enjoyed the event. Enormously impressed with the commitment and enthusiasm of the locals who came out to support around the course. Extremely well organised, could not be faulted. Will definitely do this one again, hopefully in better weather!

In short: Great course and organisation - lots of rain and wind!
In full: Brilliant organisation, very committed marshals, water stop help and supporters. Gret finish line organisation. Shame about the terrible weather - I really enjoyed myself :-) A great first half marathon

In short: Wild, wet, windy, muddy, but fun (in a mad sort of way)
In full: I have never run in such atrocious weather but despite this still enjoyed the event! The organisation was not to be faulted. Support around the course was very good. Much hillier than expected. Course info states 1 hill but I counted 3 and that's not including the fair few uphill inclines during the course. It will take the village green a long time to recover from yesterday as it was truned into a sea of mud.

In short: Aoooogahh. Prepare to dive!
In full: The weather was just dreadful - I know people who had planned to turn up on the day who simply stayed in bed listening to the howling wind and rain battering at the windows.......but for those of us who turned up it resulted in a true 'event'. Weather was worst beforehand so having to turn up more than an hour before the start and then try to keep warm and relatively dry was a challenge - yes all the covered areas were crowded but the organisers had planned well and we all fitted - just! Lovely to see Dame Vera Lynn hadn't stayed at home - she braved the elements and that was a nice touch. Biggest heroes, as everyone has commented, were the Marshalls and Supporters, and I applaud every single one of them - they had it worse that us runners. And I do feel sorry for the ice cream van!! To add insult to injury by the afternoon it was dry and sunny - hey ho! I'll be back next year though - a truly characterful race, no PB for me but who cares, I took part!

In short: people have drowned in less water!!
In full: If you've read any of the previous comments you will have gathered that it chucked it down before the race and managed to moderate that to heavy rain at times during the race!
The organisers did a great job considering the conditions and anyone who was brave or foolish enough to stand and cheer us on also deserves a medal. Roll on 2010

In short: Great organisation, nice scenery, terrible weather!
In full: A huge thank-you to all the marshals and helpers who braved the howling wind and downpours!
Nice varied figure of 8 route, 165m of ascent (so a few hills).
Excellent organisation, especially considering the weather. Nice tea and cake tent to welcome you at the end!

In short: Great race in awful weather!
In full: I agree with what has been said before (eg by Percy and Steve). Thanks especially to all the organisers, marshalls, water-station helpers etc for turning out on a miserable day; thanks to for those who supported so enthusiastically! I will be back next year.
