In short: Good well organised race, but needs more atmosphere
In full: Two or three bands/musical groups along the way would make the route and the race experience much more enjoyable, surely there would be some local students/groups who would charge little nothing to just be a part of this event and it would really help us runners pick up the pace!

In short: Well organised race and plenty of water provided along the route as it was a very warm day. Very flat surface mostly along the sea front.a

In full: Well done to the organisers. Suggest water station at the turn be moved onto the straight as the turn was very busy. I think the medal could have been a bit better but that's a small point.
Me and my running buddies came over from Kent and if you feel like coming to us then check out the Weald 10k on www.weald10k.co.uk which is on 6 September which we organise. Only 50mins from Southend and well worth it!

In short: Well organised, great volunteer and crowd support. Flat, fast run.
In full: Only problem was the huge queue when trying to leave the car park. Would recommend leaving early or late - journey home took me an extra half an hour because of the congestion.

In short: Great value race for a fantasic charity. Hot when the sun shines which seems to every year!
In full: Great race for an amazing charity, my home event. Why is it always so damn hot though?! Such good PB potential as it's flat as pancake but the heat tends to kill off those thoughts. To be expected in June I suppose. If you're not running you should definately organise a BBQ for the same day, guarenteed blazing sunshine! Maybe it could start at 8 rather than 10 then we would miss most of the heat? Not so good if you're travelling.

As for the 2 lap format, I've spoken to the organiser at Havens and they want to make it 1 lap all the way along the seafront but Southend Council won't give permission. Apparently, the guy who owns Adventure Island objects due to loss of business caused by a full seafront road closure. Maybe now that the race is getting bigger (approx 1500 finishers this year) they might allow it!? Maybe not hey.
