In short: Well Organised Race. The weather made it a slight slog towards the end with the wind and rain acting like a battering ram against you!!

In short: Well organised, flat course with good PB potential.
In full: Enjoyed the race, even the rain! Good mainly flat course but hated that last mile and the soggy Shinty pitch finish. Thanks to all the marshalls, officials and those who manned the drinks stations for keeping cheery on a dour day for officiating.

In short: Good wet marathon
In full: The organisation at drinks stations for this race was excellent, with good sports bottes of water and lucozade - much better than at Abingdon. The course is mostly flat with a few gradual inclines and a couple of short sharp shocks near the end. The medal was a bit disappointing for a marathon.

I would certainly do this again but it is a long way up the country.

In short: Well organised, Highly recommended out and back marathon
In full: Had a great time in Fort William. Did 4.19 which is a new pb, and really enjoyed the run.

Many thanks to the whole team for putting together a great event, would definately recommend, and would love to do again someday, maybe even next year!!

In short: I can definitely see that this race could have been brilliant......(!)
In full: Factors in and out of the orgnaisers hand (mostly the latter) made this race fall a little short of the high hopes I had having travelled up from Berkshire.

The overcast and rainy weather unfortunately obscured the view of Ben Nevis. Although, on the way out when the rain wasn't so bad, the view of Loch Linnhe was beautiful.

It is a bit hard for me to be fair and obejective because I had been on to hit a PB until 21 miles when cramp hit me hard. The huge personal disappointment aside (which I can take many positives and learnings from nonetheless), I was upset that there were no course medics or St Johns around this stage where runners can really suffer. With a brief treatment I could have carried back on and finished in still under 4hrs, instead I had to try and sort it out alone and hobbled 2 or 3 miles in the pouring rain, after which I somehow dug out a painful jog for the last 2 miles. Also given the course layout and weather, there was nowhere I could feasibly have layed down to elevate my legs.

In all fairness, this was the only problem, and only one you notice if circumstances work against you. Apart from that the organisers were lovely and welcoming, and the drink station layout and volunteers were fantastic.

I shall be back in 2or 3 years time to 'lay the ghost'!

In short: great race once again, superbly organised
In full: well, they couldn't help the weather - at least the rain and cold was better for some of us than the heat of london would have been. i've been back to lochaber 5 times - a great race, excellent organisation, and a good weekend trip for a club team.
