In short: Well organised, nice flat course In full: A little wet, but a good race with a big turnout, th towel at the end was useful bearing in mind the weather, would do again no problem, thanks Date of review: August 19, 2007
In short: Lovely Run, Terrible Weather In full: Really enjoyed it, seemed like a big turn out, and did a pb, was made up. Well marshalled thanks to them and the organisors Date of review: August 19, 2007
In short: Nice flat one. Shame about the cars refusing to wait 5 mins. In full: Course was well marshalled, but there were a number of impatient Sunday drivers who refused to wait 5 mins for everyone to pass. Some dangerous moments with cars cutting across and cutting into runners when overtaking. A good race overall though. Date of review: August 31, 2006
In short: We are R-U-N-N-E-R-S not skittles you numpty! In full: Good race, on the whole well organised, just the odd roundabout where junctions were not marshaled and cars were trying to mow down runners willy nilly.
We are R-U-N-N-E-R-S not skittles you numpty!
Later on another car pulled out of a side road narrowly (and I mean narrowly) missing more runners.
There were a number of shouts of:
"Jolly heck, that's not cricket, go easy young man" (or not similar, words to that effect!)
I can't imagine what subsequently happened to his wing mirror?
What is it with car drivers in the area, it's Sunday morning, it's once a year, can't you just wait 5 minutes to let the mad runners past?
I like this race, the crowd is good, organisation is good, I like the towel (pink though, come on, what am I going to look like down the gym?), only the scenery could be improved upon, and it wouldn't take much to improve it, pretty much anything could improve it!
Oh yes and a good PB course, I took a whole 1:24 off my 10k PB here this year. Only 13 (long, hard, laborious) seconds to sub 40 mins 1k times.
Thanks to the Striders for a good one. Date of review: August 23, 2006
