In short: Great Medal and T-shirt - need bigger Mars bars
In full: Good race. This was my 2nd year and I managed to knock a whopping 10 minutes off my time from last year. Good marshals and organisation. Great medal and t-shirt. Only gripe is why do people insist on lining up in a section that is WAY too fast for them, it is just annoying for those of us who lined up in the correct section for our finish time. I actually ran more than 5 miles as I had to do SO much going around people, some of whom were 3 across.

In full: For 5 of us this was our first race and everyone ran faster than they expected. Great crowds, nice up and then back down route. Fantastic medal and running t-shirt at the finish! Brilliant!

In short: Good town race, with very good standard at the front, and big field for race of its type
In full: This race has grown steadily since I last did it in 2006. Then the field was 1200, now it was over 1600. Key improvements such as chip timing and signs with starting times have ensured the increase of field size has gone smoothly.

Nice town race, a nice change from the 100s of races that are miles of country lanes that could be anywhere truth be known. Little bit of Marlow character, and I love the finishing 200metres with a good crowd all gathered to cheer you home.

First time for 4 years, but my 5th time at the Marlow 5 will hopefully not be my last

In short: Lovely little event
In full: The first time I've run this event and I have to say I'm mightily impressed.
The organisation was superb with lots of encouraging marshalls to keep you going. Chip timing, plus a great medal and T shirt rounded things off nicely.
Well done Handy Cross Runners. See you there next year.

In short: A really nice, well-organized race
In full: Handy Cross Runners organize this race superbly, coping with huge numbers of runners. It is packed with cheerful marshalls and supporters, and there's a really nice medal, teeshirt and goody bag at the end.
One of the best races of the year.

In short: Great organisation, excellent value, course challenging in a good way
In full: I thought this was an excellent all-around race and I have a lot of gratitude for the organisers and the people who showed up to cheer on the runners. I was pleased with my time, even though I realize it would have been a few minutes faster on a course that was not so hilly. Still, the hills of this race are part of its challenge and charm. Attractively-designed and high-quality medal and t-shirt, and nice goody bag that was much appreciated after an energy-depleting race. Excellent and convenient on-site parking as well. My only suggestion: additional general race information could be made available online in advance of the race, on topics such as parking availability and method of electronic timing used. Helpful information was included in the brochure sent in the post with the bib number, but I didn't receive this until only a few days before the race. Perhaps the brochure could be put online?
