In short: Too flat a course for me. Mostly well arranged but more time queuing in car than running.ig

In short: Glorious Scenery and Weather
In full: Choose this race over Bath and how glad we were after doing Bath for the last two years. We were in and out of the Car Park in five minutes so we must have been lucky, although we did leave plenty of time and arrived 45 minutes before the advertised start. We found plenty of loos - with little or no queues (apart from the four near the start). Markers seemed a little inaccurate and some marshalling a bit hit and miss - nearly got run over by a cyclist - had no idea they were racing!!! but the scenery and weather was second to none and the announcer was superb cheering everyone through the finish. Nice medal and Fruit of the Loom T-Shirt - good value compared to Bath. Would definately do again - worth the trip and we live just outside of Bath. A nice friendly atmotsphere and quite laid back. Really enjoyed the day.

In short: Flat course??? Er. NO!
In full: Although I enjoyed todays run I have many criticisms. Primarily the car park. We waited for an hour to get out after the run. AN HOUR. We would have been longer if we didnt jump out of our line and drive to the other side of the car park. There were no wardens directing anyone, not ONE, and about 300 cars trying to filter into a single line to exit. It was absolutely catastrophic, especially when you'd travelled 60 miles to be there and had a 60 mile journey home to look forward to. Awful. Poorly managed. Laughable.
The course itself, advertised as a flat, road course.. err... isnt. Its steep in parts, downhill often, gravel at times and SAND near the waterfront. I am a keen road runner, running about 20-30 miles a week and I found this run challenging.
I think its important to note how windy it can get too, obviously this is inevitable but at times the wind was quite strong.
Also, at the end we were given a medal and a tshirt but nothing to eat, which I found rather odd. Having taken part in the Cardiff half last year I know which I preferred. Saying that, this was an enjoyable and friendly run. If I'd better prepared for a run that was not flat by any stretch of the imagination, I'm sure I wouldnt feel the need to be so critical.
One other point that deserves a mention is this: a lady fell in front of me, hitting her face on the path. Myself and another gentleman stopped while a warden stood there and did nothing until he was prompted to get help. This is a very poor reflection on the whole event in my opinion.

In short: very enjoyable
In full: only complaint was exiting the car park, some sort of marshalling should have been in place, took over an hour to get out.
