In short: Organisation and marshalling was excellent (delayed start excepted) and I liked the 2 lap basis as I knew what I was up against in the second lap. In full: My first half marathon and my first road run for 4 years so I went into this a little apprehensive but the course was good and I liked the 2 lap basis as I knew what I was up against in the second lap. Organisation and marshalling was excellent (delayed start excepted) and I will be looking to beat my time next year. Date of review: November 6, 2008

In short: Good intentions, up down and up and down..... In full: Won't add to the start comments enough already said. Not sure if it's fast or not due to the undulations but the second half of both laps offered some slight downhills which allow you to make up some lost time. I was very appreciative of the buses laid on, I was on the train this was so this was the clincher for me entering as I knew I'd be able to get the start. And well done marshalls. In short: Did my fastest 1/2 time yet so can't complain. In full: Apart from the delayed start, which was a bit annoying its worth the trip. They should really post race numbers to entrants to save time though. Date of review: November 5, 2008

In short: Fairly gentle 2 lap course with 'stadium' finish In full: Delay caused by distributing the timing chips was the only downside to this race. Good to finish on the running track where friends and family can cheer you on Date of review: November 5, 2008

In short: Lewis Hamilton's Home Hlaf In full: And mine, too!! I don't live in Stevenage, but I'm from sometown outside. I'd run it again because my mother cheers me from the finish line. Not a bad run by any means, but not worth a massive journey for. Date of review: November 5, 2008

In short: 15 minute delay at the start was more than compensated by: 1. decent medal and a tee shirt. 2. Perfect weather 3. Loads of marshalls and a quick, traffic free course. 4. Stadium finish and a free coach ride. Thanks to the FVS team! Date of review: November 4, 2008

In short: well organised, great marshalling, potentially fast course. In full: although the race started 15 mins late due to issuing the chips,we were kept informed and all other aspects of organisation made up for it.not the most scenic course but enjoyable traffic free running.Nice friendly atmosphere too. In short: Apart from the start well organised with great marshalls. Would do it again. In full: For me Stevenage as a place harbours pretty depressing memories. Between the ages of 4 and 14 being dragged there every week from Hatfield by my mum and nan to go the the "exciting" shops in the town centre. I hated the place so much that when a family wedding came along in London on the same weekend of the run i nearly didn't enter. Glad i did though. The courtesy bus service was great, the chip and number fiasco was a downer, the marshalls were great and the actual course was much better than i expected. I ran the Jedburgh half two weeks ago in the beautiful Scottish borders and wasn't expecting much here, but was pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyed my sprint (well....kind of) on the running track at the end. My ultimate aim was to run below 1:50 but finished in 1:50:05 so was gutted. However it was a great day out and i'd do it again if i'm in the area in 2009. Date of review: November 4, 2008

In short: Good for your first one!! In full: First chip timed race and the organisers need to sort the queue out but maybe that will have happened next year. Other than that, well run, baggage facilities the most efficient I have seen. Lots of club runners but still good for amateurs, first half a bit hilly but the rest quite kind. A big PB for me didn't hurt. Although some of this is underpasses and main roads much is through parks and thus scenery better than you would expect of Stevenage. Date of review: November 4, 2008
