In short: My first half marathon & I enjoyed it. In full: I am well slow, but was looked after by the marshalls, & no-one giggled at my time!! Nice scenery by an estuary. Date of review: January 3, 2009

In short: Mmmmm.... In full: Race organisers can't do much about the weather (which was awfull for those finishing beyond 32 mins), they should however be able to get mile markers to within a lamppost or so of correct (not .89 of mile out!), they should be able to get water to the finish line. I know its tough being a Race Director, been there, but these are simple errors. BUT...marshalls great, very encouraging and patient. Out there in the wind, cold & wet for hours so we could run, thanks. Thanks to Date of review: November 10, 2008

In short: Flat, Scenic, PB-tastic Course! In full: Mostly on cycle-route along river. One minor hill (rose about 100ft in 2 Miles, so hardly worth mentioning) so high PB-potential. Hardly any spectators, although I'm sure more would turn out if better weather. I coped OK without Mile markers, as I've done a few HM's before so paced myself OK, plus the out-and-back nature of the course meant you knew roughly how far you had to go from about 9M. I'd definitely do this one again one year, if I fancied another crack at a PB :o) Date of review: November 10, 2008

In short: Pretty good race overall, shame about the mile markers In full: I enjoyed this race and the weather was nothing like as bad as it could have been. Fairly flat overall, only one hill of any note. Missed a pb by 20 seconds!
For those runners without a garmin, the mile markers were extremely confusing. I'm glad the announcement was made at the start, otherwise I'd have been even more confused. It was very hard to judge how you were doing and some weren't even 'approximate'! Date of review: November 10, 2008

In short: Excellent mainly off-road course. Marshalls also excellent. But please oh please sort out the mile markers for next year - without a Garmin it was impossible to judge the pace you were running and unfair on the runners. Date of review: November 10, 2008

In short: A largely traffic free & friendly run In full: First time I'd done this run & thoroughly enjoyed it. A fast flatish run with one incline of note. Largely traffic free as well. The starter did mention the mile markers were a rough guide but a few were very rough! So I was glad I had my Garmin with me. And after all the debate I'd noticed in the forum it was spot on for distance. Nice that they remembered a minute's silence at the start for Remembrance Sunday. A big thank you to the organisers and all the marshalls/ helpers Date of review: November 9, 2008
