In short: Good Venue. Good Atmosphere.
In full: Not so Hilly and long slow drags up which take it out of you but weather kept off for most of us runners.

In short: although it was my slowest time for a half , i thought it was a great couse
In full: a very tough hilly half,in the middle of summer was never going to be easy.i thought it was very well organised and good value for money.i got to about 10 miles and started to struggle loosing loads of places. i dont know about other runners but i felt it was easy to set of to quickly over the first 5 miles and like me paying for it at the end. overall one of the best halfs ive done but if your after a pb look elsewhere

In short: So this is what "hilly" is then!!
In full: Really enjoyed today's race even though it's very flat where I live and today's hills were killers for me!!

There was a lot of support round the course (remember it's not FLM!) and the marshalls were great. Traffic could have been an issue in some areas - inhaling diesel fumes at times wasn't too nice - though it didn't affect my run.

Goody bag a bit thin (do I really want a prospectus for the local college?), but tee shirt fine and it fits!!

Only gripe - I'm not from Mansfield and struggled to find the start because the signs coming into town were rather small and I didn't spot a couple until I had driven past them!!

Would I do this race again? Yes - especially if you can arrange the weather to be as kind as today's was!!

In short: Glad I drove the course beforehand
In full: A good challenging run but certainly not one for a beginner, it is just as hilly as the organiser stated. Thank goodness the weather was kind (damp) and not as hot as it most definitely could have been. The hills/weather/July combination may put people off in the future. Come on Mansfield find some flat bits for non-club runners or the event may suffer falling numbers.

In short: Challenging
In full: This was a very challenging course with lots of undulations including a full mile long uphill stretch at about 8 miles.

The whole event wasn't helped by a lot of traffic and several aggressive drivers. Perhaps not enough thought went into avoiding these busy areas.

Super goody-bag went some way to compensate for a poor course.

Average, overall.

In short: Good up and down course - nearly missed start due to poor signposting from road
In full: The weather made this easier than it could have been. The route was quite varied but i am glad i brought my own water bottle as there didn't seem to be many water stations and you got water in a cup which spilt every where rather than a bottle. I had to hunt down water at the finish as there was none there and none in the plastic bag i got when i finished. All this said i would defnately do it again!!

In short: Well organised, challenging is an understatement, lack of support, no goody bags left for me!
In full: Heralded as a new course, but I liked the old one better. It was very hilly, especially at the 8 mile mark right through to the end, even though the marshalls kept telling me it was all downhill from here!!!This was supposed to be a spectator friendly route, but there were very few of the mansfield folk out cheering, full marks to the band in the park though, very good. It was also supposed to be traffic free but it was most definitley not, it was quite scary at times as the cars thundered past, and mansfield motorists how rude some of you are. To be fair I am a local resident and didn't see many notices to warn traffic of the event in the week before, so I expect many of them were taken by surprise. nice blue t shirt but no goody bags left when I finished, OK I was near the end of the field but there should be enough for everyone. On the plus side my family loved the fun run and got a really nice medal each. The race marshalls were on the whole great, helpful friendly and encouraging, (apart from lying to me about the hills!!!).I live in Mansfield but can't say I fancy this one again, unless they change the route.

In short: My 4th this year and twelve mins over my previous worst time due to the hills. Signposting to start was poor and the traffic on the route was a bit dodgy. Otherwise, good organisation.
