In short: Superb autum day, excellent conditions underfoot and very well organised
In full: This was the perfect day for a run in the hills above Coniston. The atmosphere was great and the event very well organised. The route was well marked with marshalls at key points. There were a couple of rocky sections and I noticed a couple of runners who had had bad falls. It could be improved with some extra toilet facilities at the start as this may remove the sight of male runners urinating on a field wall. Apart from that, a great course and one I'll run again.

In short: Brilliantly organised with breathtaking scenery. I recommend a post-race dip in Coniston Water. It has healing properties!

In short: Excellent event!
In full: Just a wonderful day. Loved the course [I speak as one who doesn't try to run up the hills], the marshalls are great, the finish is fun, the atmosphere friendly. The childrens races are a joy. The only thing that could have made it even better would be winning a spot prize - even a sports massage! This is my favourite of the series. Probably. It's so difficult to choose.

In short: Just brilliant - again. Only thing missing was a bit of a breeze off the lake to compensate for the warmth in the sunshine.
In full: I've more or less run out of superlatives for this series. In my opinion, apparently shared by many, this series truly sets the benchmark for trail running events. The organisation is rarely short of faultless, absolutely everybody(from the smallest child to the international athlete)is catered for and the whole series takes place in one of the most beautiful places in the country.

Yes, the routes are tough - and the carnival atmosphere isn't to everybody's taste - but I know a number of people who've been converted to runnning just by turning up to one of these to see what its all about. There really cannot be many better adverts for our sport out there.

Congratulations,as always, to Graham, Claire and the team to work so hard for our benefit.

In short: Fantastic race (again)
In full: Ran it last year and had to come back for more - even beat last year's time despite the heat!
Great family weekend. See you in Ullswater and hopefully all four next year
