In short: Interesting and varied course ....
In full: Enjoyable outing in the January sunshine but can't help thinking one of these years the weather is going to be bad and potentially this course could turn hideous and dangerous! especially along winding hilly roads without pavements! .. having said that this year was trouble free except for the road sweeping lorry with yellow light flashing which I mistook for the lead vehicle!!!! ... great varied scenery and slick organisation ... could do with a better standard of graphic for race map ...

In short: good for all levels of runners, nice scenery, good weather and good organisation.
In full: Well thet did say it was hilly didn't they. My garmin said that it was roughly 1/3 up, 1/3 down and the rest was flat. Nice scenery in the woods and by the canal, the only drawback was the road stretch, but I found all drivers to be very sensible and past by slowly and safely. Shakes at the end as well as water and gels was a nice touch, but one runner did say that that more than one water stop enroute would have been better. In warmer weather i'd agree, but then again I usually carry my own anyway. Nice medal too.

In short: Ok apart from the road stretches with traffic
In full: It did not deserve a road closure but the finish at the end was congested with runners and cars
