In short: Exhausting but exhilerating at the same time!
In full: Well organised race from beginning to start. A fantastic feeling crossing Morecambe Bay, challenging to say the least. Understandably thre wasn't much opportunity for spectator support out on the sands but the crowd support when you reached dry land (literally the last 100yds or so) was very lifting and more than made up for it. A big thank you should also go to the bay guides who were entrusted with our safety in keeping us on the right route safely across the sands. Someone commented earlier about the cost of the run and what you got in return but if you read the race information they send they specify it's a charity run and considering the cost of the coach transport from I don't see what the problem is. This run should definitely be on everyone's Bucket List but if you do enter, make sure you use your old trainers!

In short: Unique and challenging ; friendly and excellently organised.
In full: Maybe I just had a really good day or I'm getting carried away; but I'd say this has been my favourite running event ever. This having been 6 [ SIX] minutes slower than my pb. Its really well organised from parking , then the coach over to the start , baggage tent , cup of hot tea at end and always a friendly helpful reply to any queries ; and NO I don't work / help with the race or know anybody who does.
The race / terrain / setting is just spectacular like a very wet desert and school cross-country [without hills] mingled into one. Then wading through waist high water seemed to perk the legs up a bit and a natter with all sorts of interesting folk - I've registered for next year already !!!!!

In short: Wet n' wild n' great fun!!
In full: This was my first time running the cross bay challenge and boy, what a challenge it was! The anticipation was immense and by the time we set off, I was geared up to go for it! There were several water crossings, especially the river crossing at about the 7 mile mark - it was especially challenging and the current was fairly strong. Overall, the race was great, could have perhaps done with bins on every mile mark to put empty water bottles in. I was happy with my time and even happier with the chocolate and tea at the end! Nice t-shirt too...

In short: Worth travelling the distance for
In full: Positives:
A well organised and enjoyable race in a unique environment.

Negatives:
If it is advertised as a half marathon they should make damn well sure that it's the correct distance and not a third of a mile short. Its not as if they didn't have the space to fit it in.

After running through water, sand and mud the least they could do was provide an area to change in and some washing facilites. After all it wasn't a cheap race to enter and a lot of people (including myself) came a long way to take part. Driving whilst caked in mud, sweat and salt wasn't very pleasant.

No medal.I know that there wasn't going to be a medal but,I still feel short changed considering the effort and cost to take part. It would have been a better momento than the cheap c*** in the goody bag that went straight in the bin.

Having said that the positives far outway the negatives, but a few small touches would make a good race excellent.

In short: Different, very different and definitely a special experience.
In full: I don't know of any other races like this, great fun just because it's so different. Overall well organised by happy helpful vounteers, may need to get a little better with signage and race information around the start and finish areas if it grows into something bigger. The terrain and scenery is unique but dosn't vary much for the 13 miles! I'd guess the bay guides probably have as many words for sand as the eskimos do for snow, the feel under foot frequently changing.
