In short: Lovely event, most enjoyable.
In full: Start was just around the corner from our hotel and the Railway station which made the return journey easy. Toilets and registration worked well due staggered start times. No mass start which would have been impractical for a canal towpath anyway, made for a slightly surreal start, "Off you go" as you crossed the timing mat. Organisation was brilliant, no problem with bag transport for me as I tied my number to my own bag, rather than the generic black bin bag, which made everyone else's bag identical and caused a few problems. Loved the route along the canal with nature and history abounding. Garmin didn't like the tunnel but it's part of the course so no complaint from me. Marshals and narrow boat owners should be thanked profusely for their sterling work. Before I knew it, I found myself at the finish in the centre of Brum, fantastic. Medal and goody bag was nice although I gave the redbull away (yuk!) Would a well designed t-shirt be out of the question next year please? Did a few extra miles back down the route which was nice to see the other runners coming in. Great shower facilities at the NIA. Will be back next year.

In short: Great route
In full: Great route, challenging in places, especially the tunnel. I would definitely do it again. Loved it apart from just a couple of thing that could be improved I think. Mile markers a bit out. Could do with 2 of the water stations handing out bottles rather than cups to give you a bit more fuel especially if hot weather. A bottle of water at the end rather than a cup as need to rehydrate properly, not everyone likes Red Bull. Tunnel could do with being lit with something better than glow sticks.

In short: Strange to run with nobody along side. If I had not been injured for the last 2 weeks I am sure it would have been a PB.

In short: Superb Race
In full: I have experienced time trial events before the Wombourne 5k series which is excellent run by the same organisers. this was my first time trial over a long distance and in my opinion the whole event was well organised.the actual run was challenging with the short sharp shock of the canal bridges. A big thank you to all the marshals and the barge fraternity for their encouragement and drinks. I did partake in a bottle or 2 at the Pitcher and Piano I will definately do this again next year and hope to have the same arrangement at the Pitcher and Piano. Footnote I got a cracking deal at the Nove hotel so me and the wife made a night of it in Broad Strret.
