In short: The man with the hosepipe saved my life..... In full: Beautiful course, and very well organised. The whole day had a great family atmosphere. The start was a bit narrow so took a while for people to space out, and there were a lot of club runners which could be intimidating for a beginner. The weather was tooooo hot, but that is not the organisers' fault, and the well manned drinks stations helped, as did the man with the hosepipe towards the end. The weather seemed to take a few people out, have never seen so many casulties and hope that they have all recovered now. I took my time and got a PW but am pleased to have finished in one piece and claimed my t-shirt with all runners' names on the back. Overall a very good race. Date of review: May 11, 2008
In short: Goes from strength to strength. One of the best Half Marathons. In full: Was worried by the extra numbers, but didn't encounter any organisation issues. Great venue. No problems at start (although I was up near the front). There seemed to be plenty of water on a very hot day. Lots of marshals and helpers. Well done Hinckley Running Club. In short: Hot, hot, hot!! In full: Great organisation and lovely scenery. Agree with last review that the temperature may it pretty much impossible to push for a PB. Water stations worked really well given the weather conditions and massive demand! Hope everyone who needed first aid due to the weather is ok. ps thanks a million to the guy with the hosepipe near the end - you are a life saver. Looking forward to the run next year. In short: Great race, well organised - thanks to all involved In full: 2nd time I've done this and thoroughly enjoyed the experience again. Far too hot to consider trying to push it too hard and I was glad to get around in one piece. Great T-shirt with all competitors names on the back. Thanks to all involved. In short: very nice run, i was very impressed In full: the run was realy nice and i enjoyed the views, as not from the area, two things spoilt it - one bloke swearing because he could'nt pass people at the begining, and secondly the bloke with the i-pod who spat over myself and a lady runner. yes i would run it again.
In short: Great race, lovely scenery, rain not a problem! In full: Had a fantastic race, got another PB despite the undulating course. The views along the course made it all worthwhile. I'll be back next year without a doubt. Well done to all organisers and helpers. Date of review: May 14, 2007
