In short: Very friendly, well organised, beautiful route - horrible hill at end In full: This was my first half marathon and I really enjoyed it. The marshals were full of support and they were very encouraging. The last hill came as a bit of a shock to the system as this was not mentioned on the write up but I kept going and made it to the end. Even though I was towards the end I was very impressed by the number of people at the end to welcome us in. I would do it again – even with the 7 mile round trip to get there and would recommend it to any beginner.

In short: A challenging and enjoyable race In full: As a countryside born lad (where's my pitchfork Jethro!) I much prefer to run along country lanes and tracks than through city centres. So this half marathon was ideal for me. The Viking Way was tough - what with all the travelling, pillaging and the locals firing arrows at you. The roads were undulating and a few hills here and there got the heart pumping a bit more. The marshalls were superb (they live at number 16 by the way and do a mean Sunday roast). Seriously though I thought it was superbly organised and many thanks to all the organisers and volunteers. Well done on finishing Bronwyn - and yes I managed to sneak in just under 2 hours - next year I'm going for the win :)

In short: The 'green mile' adds some character at the start, the 'hills' keep it interesting in the middle but I wanted it over by the 10 mile mark.! However, the marshals were helpful and encouraging and the finish line is impressive. Date of review: February 23, 2009

In short: Well done Striders a definite success. In full: Well organised this year and no problems as far as I know. A challenging route always worth getting down to Cranwell for. A nice long straight road to Cranwell village and back for anyone wanting to do more than the distance on the day in marathon preparation. Date of review: February 23, 2009
