In short: getting good at mud now! In full: Not so good at computer stuff, this is for 2006 really. Might do 3rd round, but 1800 - 0600 nightshifts sat, sun, mon, tue that w/e + 23 mile drive to irchester, so a bit of time management required! Great race. Date of review: February 12, 2006
In short: Muddy fun In full: My first race and it rained! The course was ok for a beginner (even with the very muddy hill). Undulating is a good description - not too hilly. Marshalls all ok for the 5k. Nice to get a medal. No proper storage facilities. Overall good fun. Date of review: February 12, 2006
In short: and I thought I was fit.... In full: I have never expended so much energy trying to stay upright (other than after a good drink!). If my feet slid to the left, then they slid to the right. One step forward and three to the side...but don't be put off this was a great experience for a first timer at multi-terrain and I found muscles in my legs that the road running just doesn't find. Not to be put off I'll be there for round two! I have a new PB at multi- terrain to beat! Date of review: January 27, 2006
In short: great fun In full: A nice course. Only negative point is not enough marshalls. By the third lap most seem to have dissapeared. Lucky I remembered the route from the first lap. Date of review: January 23, 2006
In short: Much more fun than road running In full: I've never understood why road running is far more popular than cross country, and this race proves my point. OK, there are no mile markers and the race distance is only approximate and the conditions vary hugely from one year to the next, so a PB is a fairly meaningless target. But the running is just so much fun!
By cross country standards, this is a fair course. One uphill quagmire - make sure you do your laces up tight else you will waste valuable seconds digging out your shoes - but otherwise an undulating rather than hilly course with good footing.
Great atmosphere, good organisation, encouraging marshalls and lovely scenery - what running was invented for. Date of review: January 23, 2006
In short: Faultless In full: I have entered this race 3 years running now and it gets better every year, faultless organisation, an excellent, challenging, exciting course, beginner and spectator friendly and a medal to all finishers. Date of review: January 23, 2006
In short: Another "Just Racing" success story, Good "clean?" fun!.. In full: Great fun, a real challenge without going over the top. I enjoyed [almost] every one of the 59 minutes that the 10K took me...
Cant wait for round two, see you there? Date of review: January 23, 2006
