In short: You gotta love this race ....!!
In full: Ran the Saturday race this year, my third outing and every bit as enjoyable as the last two. Nice t-shirt but goody bag?? Got a bottle of water that was very welcome but that was it. Don't mind as I enjoyed the race but if its in the literature ....? Atmosphere is great every year, marshalls always encourage everyone - even us back-markers - which makes us feel wanted. Keep it up guys, I WILL be back again .. maybe with my son next year ...

In short: Super day, Super Cold.
In full: Arrived in plenty of time, directions spot on and parked next to start finish area so able to wait and change in car. Icy conditions meant for a slow start but I was soon splashing through the icy water with the rest. It was a 300 mile round trip for us but really enjoyed it although not as Grim As I thought. Beautiful sunny day to take your mind off the numb toes. Only Gripe is the T Shirt I would love to have worn it down the Pub but they had run out of Small size so its one for the nightshirt pile again. Hope to be back next year.

In short: Good fun but I expected much harder
In full: I expected something more on the lines of HellRunner but Grim is So much easier, prob so they can get so many people to do it. Could have made it harder by taping more route into the water rather than round it. Will be back to try again with more mud and water with luck next year, the ice made the mud hard so it was easier than expected today. Worth the 3 hour each way drive.

In short: Challenges novice and experienced runners
In full: Lovely scenery and large number of runners.
The only improvement would be more obstacles. Perhaps, bales to jump or similar as there was not enough mud to make it the ultimate trail race.
Very satisfying and well worth going to
The cold made for hard ridges and high impact clearly, nothing could be done about that!
Gripe with attitude of some runners who barged their way to the front of the start despite arriving late and also a comment made behind me that I was going to be the last female not his running partner! Very satisfying when I passed them as they walked having pushed to fast over the first part!
A lot of people walked the last mile or so I pressed on I think they just went to fast!
Enjoyable

In short: Cold, icy, freezing but great fun
In full: Excellent race. Sunday was freezing cold, all the water was frozen and leg numbingly cold, the thick mud was great fun, nice couple of miles of flat track towards the end to really warm your self up after all the cold water - until you come to the giant freezing 2ft deep puddle 50 yards before the finish line.
Great race and great fun too.

In short: Never fails to please and sun this year - a real treat !!
In full: Third time I've run this and enjoyed each one. Always well organised. Liked the different finish this year - very scenic views across RAE Farnborough.
Only 'negative observation' how about a 'technical' T shirt ? I did the Turbo X again 2 weeks ago, also on army land and for less money they managed very nice ones. All in all though a great way to spend Sunday, thanks.

In short: The water was Baltic
In full: Easy parking, lots of space at the start and plenty of room on the course to run at your pace - only one bottleneck. Muddy section was out of this world. I had to convince myself that my feet would eventually defrost after the proceeding water troughs.

In short: Stretches of mud and cold water but not as grim as I thought it would bee
In full: A good fun race and well marshalled, but I thought it would be tougher (and grimmer) than it was in reality. Yes, the water was cold but the course was more like a standard cross country course with some big puddles and nets thrown in.

The really big puddles were great fun though, and I look forward to seeing the photos!
