In short: Very well organised race, marshall & crowd support very welcome
In full: This was my first time at Chester. Very well organised. Has got definite PB potential but not for me this year as coming back from injury and seriously under trained.
Lovely scenic views and the field soon thinned out so you could go at your own pace. The marshalls and crowd support were great particularly when I was struggling late on.
Excellent technical shirt. Will be back next year to try to have a good go at a PB.

In short: A fantastic race - thanks Chester!
In full: Really lovely race - great organisation and support, lovely views, plenty of water/sports drink/gels on course, a fabulous finish on the racecourse and a proper goody bag! A couple of small but cheeky hills mean that this is not an entirely flat course but don't let that put you off, this race definitely comes highly recommended!

Thanks to the organisers for putting on a fantastic race and for arranging the perfect weather for marathon running!

In short: exactly the race I wanted-easy logistics, not too big, not too small
In full: I'm grinning on nearly all (33!) photos of me from the official photographers-think that says it all! My first marathon and it went completely according to plan-due in no small way to the organisation. Great signage, great water stations, great marshalls etc. The first significant hill had so many spectators screaming at us it was impossible not to get up it. The second (coming into Chester near the end) was tough:-(
Lovely country lanes and great views over towards Wales. Grassy start and finish maybe not to everyones taste maybe?
I really liked that this is a small race-it allows you to run your own race, yet I was always running with other people. I imagine if you're further back in the field it may have been a little lonelier.
All in all, I loved it and would recommend.

In short: Superb organisation, could not fault it!
In full: Having done the Chester half marathon I expected the marathon to be of a similar high standard and it was... Superb organisation, great marshalls and support around the course - particularly liked the band in one of the villages. Not so keen on the nasty little hill between miles 16 and 17 but thoroughly enjoyed the race and only 5 seconds off my PB.
Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a PB or regional race. And the technical shirt is fab!!

In short: Excellent well organised race on a beautiful fast course
In full: Fast race on closed roads all the way, started and finished at the race course and then was cheered on all the way on country roads. Made my day just a pity you have to wait another year to do it again just to gain 47 seconds and beat 3 hours.

In short: Best UK marathon to date.
In full: In all aspects, this was a fantastic race. The organisation was second to none and the course was mostly flat through picturesque Chester and some lovely surrounding villages. To have road closures the whole way was a treat. There was a little sting in the tail with a tough hill at 24 miles, but that keeps you honest and I for one enjoyed it.

Couldn't honestly say there was one aspect of the race I didn't enjoy. Thoroughly recommended.
