In short: First 10k - so special to me, though midly disappointed with the route.

In short: PB
In full: I got my PB but this was due to me surprisingly being close to the start.
A wonderful steady downhill to warm up and potential to keep a good pace all the way round.
Stunning scenery and a excuse to run london with no traffic is awesome.

In short: Room for Improvement
In full: After reading BUPA 10,000 comments of improving this race, I wasn't expecting too much. My race number arrived very late and was made of hard, shiny paper that annoyed me through the run. I don't understand why a race this size only has approx 100 toilet per 25,000? it wasn't nice watching when people went on someone's front garden/public park when the queues were horrendous 15min before the start! Start should been more penned as people's friends and family stayed with them until the start - even saw one loved one running the first half km as she couldn't get of the road! i was impressed with water being available from early on and gatorade was lovely. BUPA 10,000 should take note and add that to their race. I get tummy cramps from water...The goody bag was a bit poor but I wasn't after too much. medal and a snack bar were fine with me - maybe they should be handed out at the finish area!
Overall opinion - after running both BUPA 10,000 and British 10K London Run, i think both have definite good points and bad points. both can learn from one another! I think i will do this again next year!

In short: My first race ever and not sure if it was because I was running for a charity but I found no problems with the organisation - maybe after a different 10k I may change my mind......?

In short: Organisation shocking - do they not read the feedback!?!?!?!
In full: Simple changes could turn this ok fun run into a really great road race. Sort out the bags - treat them as if they were your own rather than leave them in puddles for 2 hours.... Provide toilets in a sensible venue rather than blocking the route to the start. Stagger or divide the start by time band - why do we provide our expected time if they don't use it! And sort out the finish area - just funnel the runners and give them drinks, goody bags and medals.... If you finished later you didn't get a goody bag or medal as people were being allowed to take more than one.... hardly fair for the true fun runners.... Come on Asics you can do better than this!

In short: With the entry fee, there really could do with a champion's chip and better goody bags
In full: I thoroughly enjoyed this race, though I don't remember the last time I didn't enjoy a race due to any problem with organisation. But there really are a few things that really could be better. I've entered much cheaper races, but they provided efficient timing facilities such as a champion's chip. But that's by the by, mainly, with entry fee such as this one (£30.00), a much better goody bag really isn't much to ask. It was very crowded and full of walkers. The route itself was pure speed, there can be no doubt about that. Over all, I enjoyed this race very much, the support was fantastic and the music was uplifting, if the few problems can be ironed out, then it really would be much more appealing than it was.

In short: Good, but lacking wow-factor
In full: Adequate, but enjoyable. No major problems, baggage facilities ran smoothly, good signage and nice route. Suffers from congestion, particularly in the first 3km, so not great for serious runners, but still PB-potential as it's a fast route. Good route, nice crowd support. Goody bag was a bit disappointing, and shame there was no chip timing. It's a very expensive entry fee for what was provided, but I still enjoyed the day. Room for improvement.

In short: Not great
In full: Information desk was dreaful. None of staff new where it was located and nobody checked my ID when I realised I'd forgotten my bib reference. Luggage bays should've been sheltered from rain.

In short: Nice atmosphere! Toilets and baggage area disappointing!
In full: Nice atmosphere for the race! Organisers should really do something about the lack of toilet facilities. Some of the baggage area staff were quite rude! Also the organisers may want to think about placing a clock at the begining of the race as well at the end if they are not providing timing chips! Goody bag really disappointing, medal OK but think I will stick to races that aren't organised by this company.
