In short: Well organised, competitive and enjoyable In full: A very well organised event that is welcoming of runners of all abilities. I enjoyed the race and fortunately the weather held out (it was quite windy though). It is my home-town race and one I will look to do every year as it is also one of the best half-marathon events I have done.
If the organisers were looking for constuctive ways to improve the race next year then they should look at providing bottled water at at least one of the drink stations, as it is a pain to have to slow down to drink.
Apart from that then I can't rate this event highly enough. Date of review: April 2, 2010
In short: Will be back again - this time a little quicker In full: A 'must do' race. Really good route and superb organisation but it's the local support and the brilliant marshalls which make this half so good. It's my second year and I know I'll be back for more..... Date of review: April 1, 2010
In short: Fastest half marathon course I've been on! In full: This course has definite PB potential. It was very well organised with complete road closures. I stood in the right place for my time at the start and did not really get held up. Which is surprising with how crowded it was in places. At the end I received a sports drink, technical t shirt (nice to get one that I'm going to use) and a paperweight memento, all of which I'm happy with. Date of review: March 31, 2010
In short: Another great Wilmslow Half In full: Last couple of years have seen my major (lack of chip timing) and minor (crap t-shirt) gripes with this race sorted by the organisers. For next year could they flatten the hill out of Mobberley ;-) Yet again another faultlessly organised race. Yes it's expensive but what other half in the area pays for complete road closures and then there are also the large donations to charities from the organisers Date of review: March 29, 2010
