In short: To be or not to be? Definitely to be running again next year :-) In full: I didn't get a place from London Marathon but I still wanted to raise money for charity so I signed up this Shakespeare Marathon. I am so glad I did. The organiser of this Shakespeare Marathon can definitely give the London Marathon organiser a run for their money. Plenty of parking (concession rate of £6 unlimited hours for the day), plenty of toilets, plenty of water stations (with sponges), secured storage of personal belongings, lovely marshals. The course is a bit hilly but the surroundings are so beautiful, lovely medal. I will definitely come back next year. Date of review: May 11, 2011

In short: Fabulous race for a fabulous charity In full: This was my third time doing the half and I'll certainly be back again next year, maybe even for the full one next time.Lovely course which does hold some challenges and it's not just that big hill out of Welford. I don't run for a goodie bag with some flyers and a free pen - I'd much rather as much money as possible went to the Shakespeare Hospice.

In short: Friendly, well organised race with some testy sections In full: Great organisation - great marshals, loads of loos and water stops, friendly supportive crowds, if sparse, still giving it their all. Good finish, with free hot drinks. Scenery excellent in places. One hill of note (done twice) not too bad. Long drag down cycle path a bit of a drain on the legs, with a lot of heat coming off it, but well worth the trip. Those are not negative points - at some time in your life you need to test yourself and I am glad I did it. Well done guys! Date of review: May 10, 2011

In short: A great well organised race In full: This was the 4th time I'd run this but 7 years since the last time. Was very impressed with the organisation and thouight that the tannoy system at the start was great. So often it's difficult tohear things at the start, further down the field. Marshals and locals were friendly and supportive and there were plenty of water stations. Well done to Stratford Rotary and their supporters. Date of review: May 10, 2011

In short: Great atmosphere but the greenway bites back! In full: A well supported and well organised marathon. A flattish course, but windy in places. Hitting the Greenway (Flat, featureless and never ending ex-train track) after approx. 17 miles meant you had to hang on in there, especially when the sun came out. A great atmosphere, and a super meal in a local pub afterwards, where nearly every customer was hobbling or limping. I may be back, but may be more likely to try elsewhere for a new experience. However, I would recommend this to ANYBODY! Date of review: May 9, 2011

In short: Small Marathon Big Potential Great views Good company In full: You didn't really need much more from a race the start was effective and I was very suprised when we din't catch up with the back of the starters after the first lap of the city centre before heading off into the contry roads of warwickshire. No major problems with cars and where I was there was never really any problems at 2 or 3 abreast even on busy roads. Nice to see the locals getting into the spirit of it all not a grumpy face on the whole course (well only from tired runners) Greenway was a great surface to run on and the puddles from the torrents of rain the night before were even minor. Glad we didn't get too close to the centre of town on the way round the first lap that was a nother worry about getting disheartened, but actually had a good buzz as the family and other support gathered around the bridge and other select viewing points. Last lap was as pleasant as the first the hills were easily doable and over before they had gotten difficult. The Greenway on the 2nd lap was bliss 5miles of flat straight running and the finish line was nestled close to a fantastic sports massage well worth £10 for 20 mins. This was my first Marathon and made a PB I think will be hard to beat for me 3:24:24 not going to stop me trying though Thank you for a wonderful day and to anyone who I ran with Dan on the first 13 miles and Pete for the last 13.2 Date of review: May 9, 2011
