In short: excellent pb potential race
In full: Totally surprised me; what a great race, I'd describe it as 'rolling through lovely countryside' with an amazing last 4 miles nearly all downhill (and certainly the last 1.2miles was all downhill and you could see the finish from about 3/4mile out. If I could ask for but one thing it would be that they have helpers at the end to take the chips off the ankles please as they've done at every other race I've been to with chip timing!!

In short: Hilly half marathon. Well organised and marshalled.
In full: Very impressed with the organisation and marshalling for this half-marathon. Very good parking. The 'fun-run' 5 milers set off 15minutes before us and left lots of room for the half-marathoners at the start to queue in their set order. Chip-timing was excellent. Lots of marshalls along the course all of whom seemed far too happy to be spending their Sunday morning in the freezing cold, clapping us along, and getting splashed at the water stations. Well done all!

In short: Good but hard run
In full: This was my first half marathon and although the hills were tougher than I had expected, enjoyed the downhills, especially at the end. Could have done with a water point after the 1st hill at 3 miles but otherwise, good supply of water. Would have been good idea to close some of the roads for 30 mins or so to avoid too much congestion. Also seemed a bit disorganised at the start and was hard to hear the loud speaker. Banana and muslei bar was a nice touch at the end and the good weather made it overall a good day out and would definetly do it again.

In short: Some great scenery
In full: whilst the road sections were annoying this was made up for with the lovely villages and rural runs

challenging hills and relieving time re-capturing downhills!

all fine and a good run - especially enjoyed beers along the canal afterwards :)

In short: Attractive route and not too many competitors, but hilly
In full: Very sunny day helped, although freezing cold. Lovely countryside. Not much atmosphere, but enough runners that you could always see where you had to go. Hilly - especially that steep bit at the half way point, but attractive downhill finish where you could see and hear the finishing line.

In short: Perfect weather and a great course
In full: Thanks to all the marshalls and organisers and special thanks to the boy with the cow bell at 8 miles who gave me a bit of a lift when I needed it.

Would it be possible to close the road from 6 to 9 miles? Too many cars coming very close.
