In short: Great race, great day, great weather In full: First time I've run this and it met all expectations. Well organised and excellent marshalling around the course giving you plenty of motivation. Challenging course, even more so with the weather, but at least that brought out the support. Pleased overall as I ran a PB. Will definately be running again next year. Highly recommended. Date of review: May 13, 2011

In short: Tough and very tough in places but fantastic In full: A HUGE thankyou to everyone involved in organising this event. Ran London last year in 3:58, ran this in 4:18, a tough event!
The goodie bag was better than Londons, drinks bottle proudly being shown to everyone alongside my medal and t shirt.
Suffered lots of cramps due to heat, always find cups hard to drink from so bottles would be a big advantage if possible to add in.
Will be back to tame the race another year!! Date of review: May 12, 2011

In short: Hot and Hilly but a really great event. In full: Friendly crowds, good organisation and brilliant marshalls are what made this special for me. It was tougher than I expected but I guess the heat has as much to do with that as the hills. Good goody bag rounded it off nicely.
I for one prefer a plain Tee to a technical Tee if anybody's counting votes! Date of review: May 9, 2011

In short: Deserves the positive comments it gets, not an easy run but do we do run because it's easy? In full: First of all thank you to the organisers, marshalls (especially the ones - Children with Mum- by the Blue Van who saved me with a water bottle late in the race), and supporters. Having run a good few marathons, I considered myself experienced but still messed this one up a bit. I should have guessed from past times that this was not a breeze. I live too far away to recce the route and do not know the area, I do now! Not Hilly in terms of Yorkshire, Derbyshre but still a good challenge. This was overall fun (if I take out the pain at the end - my misjudgement)and I think worthy of its 'special event' acclaim. It's a great race and as many have described already, scenic, well organised, friendly and ceratinly worth doing but plan for a bit of a challenge especially if hot. For the orgainsers the only criticism was the water cups rather than bottles I would pay a little more to ensure I got enough fluid early on in a marathon. If for any reason bottles cannot be done ( I know the clear up is a pain!) and you are reading this considering to enter 2012, USE THE SPECIAL DRINKS STATIONS provided, I didn't BIG MISTAKE! Those that did - good planning! Date of review: May 9, 2011

In short: Superb event, highly recommended In full: A really well run event by runners for runners - great attention to detail, friendly helpful marshals, good signage and nice rolling countryside. Date of review: May 9, 2011
