In short: Decent venue, but personally prefer running in open countryside and picturesque villages

In short: PB perfect location, but one or two small probs.
In full: The main problem I've got is that this race costs £4 more than the Asthma UK 10k on the same course with the only noticeable difference being that there were an extra water station or two.

Additionally, the chip timing used is not proper chip timing as it records your gun time rather than your personal start to finish time.

Having said that though, friendly cheering marshals improved what could have been a dour atmosphere with the rain, and the course is as quick as you'll find outside of a track.

I will be back.

In short: If it hadn't poured with rain it would have been close to perfect
In full: I agree that rowing lakes aren't the most picturesque places but they have lots of nice, flat paths/roads around them which are great for running on. And they do beat industrial parks for views.

Organisation was almost faultless. I didn't have problems with my number disintegrating, but it's a concern that a lot of people did. Goody bag was pretty good for the price and a nice chunky medal if that's your kind of thing.

I'll be back next year as I missed my 40 minute target by 8 seconds, so Dorney Lake and I have unfinished business. But hopefully next year 40 minutes will be a distant dream and I can aim for something faster ;-)

In short: Fast and flat
In full: Overall an excellent race with nice medal and goody bag. Very fast, flat course around the lake. Easy parking.

Two complaints: I'd no idea where the start line was, so was unsure when to start my watch. And the numbers started to disintegrate in the rain, and a lot of people had to stop and reattach.

But the positives outweigh these complaints. Good event, generally well organised. It helped that there was a tri happening later in the day which attracted the garb vendors.

In short: Fast, flat open course - great race.
In full: A really well organised race. A really good, fast flat course (as long as the wind doesn't blow). But very, very wet yesterday. Not that this had much affect on my enjoyment. Excellent medal and goody bag as well. And results up on the website in 2 hours - excellent!
