In short: Soooo slow to get going. Still packed at the finish line. Not enough toilets at the start - by a huge margin. No supervision of finish car park after the race - traffic jammed for hours. A shame, it was the first I'd done and it's my home town! Date of review: August 24, 2004

In short: This is the run to do to wear a silly costume and raise charity money. Not for a PB (too crowded) Date of review: August 24, 2004

In short: You get to run over the tyne bridge and see the millenium bridge , the atmosphere is great and the locals in the south shields area hand out drinks. What you have to remember is that unless your elite and start at the front u have no chance of a pb Date of review: August 24, 2004

In short: The atmosphere and crowd support make it like no other race - fantastic. I'm hooked now for every year and this is from someone who had never run a competitive race more than a year before my first GNR. Date of review: August 24, 2004
