In short: Fantastic Day
In full: Fantastic day, how they get the organisation so good amazes me. My second half marathon and i ran a pb of 1:43:52 so very pleased. It's just a great day with a wonderful atmosphere from start to finish. It's a must do race!

In short: The non-runners run what an event! 2 lessons learnt 1)Training counts 2)Dieting helps
In full: As a "used to be" fit person who is now very overweight and has had numerous injuries. I only entered the GNR to raise money for charity. Due to lack of training I would not have turned up if I hadn't. Fabulous race, great atmosphere, great crowds, and a liquorice allsorts selection of people including mis-shapes!

In short: My first GNR. As they would say locally - Mint!
In full: What a great event. I ran VLM this year and was taken back by the great crowds and support, and this race was up there with it! I would strongly advise anyone who loves running to run this race.

The crowds of runners put a lot of people off, but actually it just adds to the electric atmosphere and its not too much trouble to weave in and out of people.

I will definitely be putting my name in the ballot again for this memorable and really enjoyable spectacle of a race.

In short: A Must-do for the masses
In full: My first time doing this, but you know what to expect. Slick slick organisation for so many people, great support, friendly good-natured runners. Fizzing start, the Tyne Bridge and the finish were the highlights.

Sheer numbers and relatively narrow roads towards the end slowed things down a touch, but that is part of the experience.

Memorable!

In short: The best around
In full: Love this race and 12th today. Ran it with a friend from the States and for a change ran with my head up and not worrying about a time.Saw more this than I ever have before yes the numbers are large but you know what to expect so no moans from me.
This event is special and has the best atomosphere around made all the more special by the Red Arrows tribute to their fallen colleague.
The only down side to this event is the expo which is a complete waste of time and needs a full overhaul.
Will I be back next year? Yes love this race and the 54,000 friends I run with :)

In short: It's the people who make it what it is!
In full: Several aspects of the GNR really hack me off, the cost, the blatant self promotion of the organisers and many of the minor celebs who take part. On the other hand, running from Zone D because I didn't fell up to my Zone B start, I saw the better side of the event - the crowds of supporters with oranges, tea, icepops, water and just being there. On top of that, the runners themselves add so much through their commitment and energy.
Not a race I'll ever get a pb but one which offers other attractions.

In short: Wonderful atmosphere!
In full: Theres probably not much to say that people dont already know.....
The atmosphere was incredible - having the Red Arrows and Mo Farrah start your race is really something special!
I dont know how they do it with so many people but the organisation was flawless.
The finish is certainly the scenic highlight of the course - beautiful!
A great race!

In short: Electrifying start
In full: Just superb. I'm a seasoned marathon & half marathon runner, and have never seen such an unbelievably slick, high energy start. Of course a big race always needs more toilets, and this is especially true of the GNR.

Would love to do it next year. Highly recommended.

All races should have Red Arrow flypasts!!

Well done GNR, you deserve the reputation.
