In short: Nicely organised and very scenic - fantastic atmosphere In full: A well organised event with a fantastic atmosphere and scenery - downhill finish adds a bit of much needed speed. A very good PB course. Date of review: October 31, 2011
In short: Top-notch organisation and support In full: Big thanks to the organisers and volunteers as well as the supporters. Very friendly and encouraging atmosphere! Beautiful course and to top it all off I got a strong PB! Date of review: October 31, 2011
In short: This was my first time running the WorksopHalf Marathon and what a great experience it was. The organisation is faultless, from collecting your race number through to the final Date of review: October 31, 2011
In short: Scenic, rolling and well organised In full: The added improvements from last year made this even better, email with postcodes to all car parks, loads of ports-loos, technical Tshirt! This is a pretty ,undulating course with the majority traffic free. great atmosphere and a good mix of club and non-club runners Date of review: October 31, 2011
In short: One the best in the country In full: Another great Worksop Half. Whilst not entirely flat the profile prevents starting too fast and gives a great boost in teh second half and many record PBs here. The organisation was second to none and the goody bag very good value.
Even the weather was just about perfect this year
Will be back in 2012!1 Date of review: October 31, 2011
In short: Definitely not flat, but excellent scenery! In full: Brilliant organization, everything went very smoothly. Lovely scenery, with a lot of the race through Clumber Park. First mile uphill, but at least that's the last mile downhill as well (and lots more undulations in between). Lots of friendly marshals, name checks for most finishers as they crossed the line, and a technical t-shirt as part of the price. Date of review: October 31, 2011
In short: Absolutely Spot On and Beautiful In full: I am a complete and utter newbie, I have been running for all of 8 weeks really and I took on the challenege of the half marathon at worksop after being inspired by my other half. Everyone was so friendly, approachable and above all, encouraging and supportive throughout the route. It was incredible and so much less commercial than the Robin Hood Half and Full Marathon. There where stewrds who didn't seem to have a clue or be bothered there. The Worksop run was fantastic and I cannot wait to sign up for next year to try and better my time!
Thanks to all involved in the Worksop Half Marathon. Date of review: October 31, 2011
In short: OK, bit expensive for an out of town half-marathon In full: Not one to moan too much but I think £20 for on the day entry is a bit steep. It's not a big city 1/2 marathon and the small number of drinks stations and total lack of directional signs/arrows around the town to direct runners to the car parks and/or registration was a little dissapointing. If the cost relates to the goody bag, then, yes it was a good one, but I would rather pay less for the running...that's what this should be about, not the t-shirt of sweatband. Nice course though Date of review: October 31, 2011
