In short: Not enough toilets... In full: £24 a and not even a banana or plum loaf at the finish - c'mon.... Needs more thought on the finish area to filter folks to the right place without them having to guess. Date of review: September 28, 2009

In short: As ever a great event with beautiful views In full: You can't fault the course of this one. Through the beautiful New Forest on a sunny Sunday morning. A few hills to keep the muscles working but nothing too tough. Good crowd support in many locations given the rurual area. Good marshalling.
I would like to moan about the late start (my third year and 3 late starts). Especially irritating as I was swapping from full to half, was late, and had to run to the finish to swap race packs, run back to the start, only to then warm down for 10 mins waiting to run. Also noticed that some mile markers on the course seem to be based on last year's start location which was some yards lower down the main road in New Milton.
Still a great race. Will return next year. Thanks to the organisers.

In short: Standards slipped again In full: This is the 5th time I've run here and sadly standards slip a little each year. The queue for the car park started earlier, the time boards arrived at the start later and the water station signs gave almost no notice. The water station organisation was shambolic at times with no water, not even any cups ready on a couple of occasions. The scenery always makes this a nice race, but I hope the niggles don't become something more serious. Date of review: September 27, 2009

In short: really enjoyed it. In full: I found it too warm and I didn't like the hills but not alot i could do about that! Got there earlier enough for a good parking space. marshalls & spectators were really encouraging. Sponge & water stations still had water by the time i got to them. Jelly baby station was a good idea. I found the finish area a bit chaotic. Only found the water table after I had bought some. Would like to do it again but will include more hill training sessions next time. Date of review: September 27, 2009

In short: Glorious scenery........takes your mind off the painful inclines! In full: Pity about the late start but a challenging race through some fabulous scenery. Great marshalling, drinks, sponge dips....could have done with jelly babies a bit earlier in the race? Date of review: September 27, 2009

In short: Beautiful scenery and very friendly In full: I struggled a bit this year (I put this down to the sun beating down rather than advancing years!), but not the fault of the race which was as friendly and well-organized as ever. And you can't beat the views! Date of review: September 27, 2009
