In short: Very well-organised and scenic, really good. In full: Even the hill at the end wasn't too bad, although I'd say it was more undulating than flat in between the two hills. Great, efficient registration, and I appreciated the sponges. Date of review: October 7, 2007
In short: Extremely well organised and definite PB potential In full: First time in Congleton and found the course definitely had PB potential as although a couple of hills, they aren't that bad and it is mostly flat in between. Not much support due to being on rural roads, but that didn't spoil it for me as it was nice not to have traffic getting in the way! Really enjoyed the run and will more than likely be back again next year. Thank you to all the helpers and organisers. Date of review: October 7, 2007
In short: Great race, mostly flat in beautiful countryside In full: This one is a must for next year Great course, mostly through country lanes in rural Cheshire. Very well marshalled, plenty of water/sponge stations. Very well organised race, registration beforehand was fine. My only gripe would be 'selling' the t-shirts for a fiver after the race!! In short: Great pb potential with good scenery In full: I really enjoyed this race ,especially as I got a PB of 1.30.45.Knocked a whole 5 mins off my previous. The route was really scenic and the quiet country lanes really to my liking. The marshalling was good although a couple more drink stations would have been beneficial. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed it. In short: AWSOME In full: Great Day ran the Quarter Marathon and achieved a PB so really pleased. Thank You to all the Marshalls and the Water Station People WELL DONE. Nice medal and will be back next year. Date of review: October 7, 2007
In short: Excellent course, well organised, perfect weather and pb to boot!!! In full: I was fairly confident of a pb on this course as I knew the first 2 miles, and the hill in it, quite well, the next 7 miles had an overall decline of about 2oo feet, apart from some undulations, thanks to Congleton Harriers website for the info. Well blow me, when I was looking at my watch I was calculating a massive pb, this carried on all the way to the finish with a pb by 14 minutes, you could also put it down to my quality training plan? The sting in the tale isn't too bad short and sharp is probably the best way of putting it but after that again its fairly all down hill to the finish, nice touch with the last 400m having interval markers.
The race was well supported at the start and the finish, and at the black swan pub about half way round, all the marshalls looked like they would have rather been doing something else on a sunday morning, but I think they were all from the local rotary club!!
Anyway this is a great run, definite pb potential, can't see how people think it isn't, great scenery and good organisation. If you've not done it before it's well worth a visit. See you next year!!! Date of review: October 9, 2006
