In short: PB potential not likely, and championchips for an accurate time would be nice.
In full: Please consider the championchips for next years race.
Nice half marathon but not an easy one by any means. Hillier than I expected and the last two miles were hard because we had to run through built up areas, which can't be avoided. Think about the finish for next year. It isn't easy to run past the finish to get to the finish and remove the blow up start thing before the finish as it is confusing.

In short: Gotta love those hills!
In full: 1st time doing the Watford half even though it's my local, loved the hills, nice and brutal some of them (put a sizeable grin on my face), could do with a bit more country mileage though considering there are some lovely canals and woods around the watford area, the water at the sponge station tasted awful! I would suggest putting the water station before the sponge station and using some regular sponges instead of those 'orrible acrylic ones.
All in all a good run, the weather was idea, the running crowd were very relaxed and focused i.e. none of overly ambitious 2:00's in the 1:15 starting stage with the mad dash at the start and walking after 1km.
Medals would have been nice though since they last longer than T-shirts.

I'll be back next year just for the hills.

In short: A great race with excellent marshalling - challenging hills keeps it interesting.
In full: An excellent first 1/2 marathon experience. It was well organised, and it is difficult to find a fault, other than perhaps an extra water station, which has already been commented on.

I'll definately be back next year, despite the hills.

In short: My local race, nice only to have to walk 10 mins from my front door to the start line
In full: This was the fifth time I had run this race, and I was disappointed to record my worst time to date - must do some more hill training before next year's event! The organisation on race day was very good as usual; my only gripe was that having this year entered online via the RW website, my race number never arrived in the post; so I had to get to the race HQ earlier than intended to obtain a duplicate number. I discivered that there were others in the same boat, so this was evidently a glitch in the system. But all in all, a most enjoyable day in the Watford winter sunshine.

In short: Nice course, as road courses go...
In full: ok, I'm not a big fan of running more than 1/2hr on road, but if you're gonna, it's a good race for it. There's enough variation with a few good climbs and nice country lanes. Organisation seemed pretty good: lot's of marshalls, enough water stations, start not too far from car-park. Highlight of the day... got a book signed by Ron Hill. Legend! :-)
