In short: The 10 miler was my first ever race and five months from not being able to run 5mins on a treadmill! Fantastic experience, first time running with others and finished 100metres from my doorstep in 9th place! Will be back, possibly the 20M. Date of review: August 17, 2006

In short: More an adventure than a race In full: More than anything else this race had a tremendous spirit and seemed every inch an event organized by and for runners without any pretention and with every wish to ensure a memorable experience. Changing, showers, free food and generous water\feed stations (quartered Mars bars!) coupled with a friendly and laid back atmosphere all contributed to what was a marvelous and memorable event. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone involved in the organization and I look forward to attending next year. Any chance of extending it to 26? Date of review: September 20, 2005

In short: Rather do this than the GNR In full: I really enjoyed this race, despite getting lost and adding about 20 mins to my time. It isn't about time and there's not much chance of a PB. It's about enjoying a long off road run in some spectacular scenery. The organisation was very good, although a few more marshalls would have helped as I know a lot of people got lost! This was the first time this race has been run and it deserves a lot more support than the 150 or so who actually ran it. I know it clashed with the GNR but having read the reports I'm glad I was in Dunstable! The biscuits, sticky buns and Mars bars at the water stations were a nice touch, thanks Date of review: September 20, 2005

In short: A real challenge, great scenery and good atmosphere. In full: Markings could have been a bit better, we got lost about 14 miles and ended up missing the last water station, as there are only three this was not good! Also I slipped in a ditch and cut my leg, I think if there was a more serious accident it could have gotten hairy as there were very few marshals and at some points no houses even for a mile or so. Other than that it was a well thought out route, challenging and good fun, obviously thought up by runners. The facilities were good - the hot showers afterwards particularly welcome - and was nice to have food laid on. All said it was a great day and I really enjoyed it, many thanks to the organisers! In short: good fun but few slight problems with course markings In full: A bunch of us decided to invent our own route about two thirds of the way round when the course markings vanished (we found them again about four miles later) apart from that it was a good event, challenging but fun, very scenic and friendly. It's already on my list for next year. Date of review: September 19, 2005

In short: Superb offroad event through the attractive S.Beds/Herts countryside. One to be added as a permanent fixture to the racing calendar! In full: A welcomed addition to the racing calendar, and great preparation for an autumn marathon. Well organised race, well stocked feed stations, marked out course for us with no sense of direction, idyillic scenery, a few testing hills to shake things up, a personalised certificate (nice change from a t-shirt), and great post race grub included. Thanks to Dunstable Road Runners and all the volunteers for staging such a great event, and I look forward to returning for an improved time next year! Date of review: September 19, 2005
