In short: For the 3rd time a Great Race yet next year is in doubt after the Parking fiasco
In full: This really is a great event to do, get yourself to the front of your wave and you get into your stride early on, the last two miles are a killer in bad weather like they were today and for the 3hrs it took to get out of Portsmouth well they either need to plan for so many numbers better or just simply cut the numbers back oh and get rid of the £3 parking fee who has to pay for parking on a sunday anyway.

In short: Fifth time running the GSR, think 18,500 people too many especially as took soo long to get out of Portsmouth, not to mention the car park. Have sneaking suspicion medals are getting smaller too!
In full: However, found the last two miles strangely enjoyable, but then I don't live near the sea and absolutely love it when I can get to see it, even when it is blowing a gale!

In short: Terrible weather - shocking car park organisation...traffic chaos...but I will be back
In full: Terrible weather again - the last 2 miles were possibly my worst ever - lost a load of time there just had to fight through it.. the Nike music really helped. The 'new' professional (!) car park organisers were a bunch of useless amateurs - we managed to avoid paying and I'm glad we did - anyone who saw the minibus having to be reversed out of the queue because the idiots couldnt open the barrier ..GRRR. And 31/2 hours to get out of town...crazy. If they insist on adding numbers each year they need to sort the routes out of town - stick a policeman on every set of lights up to the Eastern road and give the traffic right of way - it was just ridiculous.

Other than that I really like the race...apart from it would be nice to have a clear day.Missed PB by 30 secs or so - but given the wind at the end...and I really feel there are just too many entrants ... you cannot hope to get a good time with people running 5 abreast.

Right - moany old git done for now!!

In short: Brilliant!
In full: First time at the GSR, loved it. Superb organization, lovely flat course. The conditions didn't detract too much (I had to smile to myself when I saw people running through the shower at 7 miles). The last bit along the seafront was tough, purley because of the extremely strong wind and driving rain but support was excellent. Very glad I made the trip from the Midlands, would love to run this course on a crisp cold sunny day next year please!

In short: Wonderful race - loved it.
In full: This race was the last one that I decided to do for charity, for a couple of years or so. This was also my first race at 10 mile distance, so I set a PB for this, coming in at 1:39:20, and I was looking for a time at under 1:40.

I also linked up quite by chance with a lady runner who was running for the same charity as me, and we ran and chatted together throughout the entire race. She also got extra sponsorship for coming in at under 1:40. So, both of us very happy.

The weather was less than perfect, but still quite manageable, even the last 2 miles didn't pose too many problems. It was still a tough race for me, having had less than the normal amount of training, but I am sure that my running partner helped in her own way. So, all in all, a very memorable race that will stay with me for quite some time.

In short: Another very well organised 'Great Run'
In full: First time I've driven in on the day, added an hour to the journey time, but got out quicker. Great race let down only by wind & rain, especially those last miles along the seafront.

In short: Excellant race. PB potential
In full: Excellant race. Only downfall was the 3 1/2 hours it took to get out of Portsmouth and then the bumper to bumper A3!
