In short: Excellent day out with beautiful scenery but god those steps...
In full: Unsure as to what I had let myself in for, the first 4 miles were ok, bit of a queue here and there for stiles, a couple of huicy hills but then started to thin out. Reached the coastguard station, magnificent views to Portland then I saw them...there must have been 200 at least, people were actually crawling up some of them. Thank god for jelly babies. If that wasn't enough the jokers threw another set in around 9 miles. Hells bells, they are trying to kill us ..then a very nice marshall said '2 miles to go all down hill' ...thank goodness. A thoroughly great race, well organised and I'll be back.

In short: Very Special Race
In full: The view of chapman's pool makes the steps worth climbing-I thought it seemed easier last year and so probably didn't treat it with enough respect and struggled near the end

In short: Little did I know what I had let myself in for when I signed up, but it was an excellent day and race.
In full: The weather (mist, v.low visibility, v. windy) made it a strange event, but enjoyable.

A lot of the course near the start (after a couple of miles) is single person track, so can become very hard to overtake. Also towards the beginning there are a few stiles that you have to queue up for, which is not bad as you have time for a rest.

It was well marshalled with people at every possible turning (good job given the visibilty).

It was my first 'off road' event, being more at home on roads, but has given me a different point of view and will be signing up for next year.

In short: Excellent race despite the wind and mist!
In full: The last 2 years have been hot and sunny - so expecting 3 years in a row in the UK in september is asking a bit much!
