In short: Good Race, but hard hills In full: A very well organised race, lots of marshalls, friendly traffic police (that actually know how to smile!) & good water stops/sponges. But those hills really seem to get to you after awhile.
Think the main let down with this race was the long wait for water at the end, and what seemed to disorganisation in this area. A suggestion would be to have the water first, then the apple bars/bananas second and t-shirts last. i.e. the order the runners actually need them. Rather than the other way around. In short: Decent half mara with a couple of challenging lumps! In full: Well organised race round the countryside surrounding Kent. The course has a couple of hills in it but its certainly manageable if not quite a PB race. Medal would have been nicer than the rather disappointing t-shirt...espec for first time runners. In short: Second year running it and enjoyed it even more In full: Thanks for a great race - well organised and supportive. Love the course, couple of hills and some undulations but it really is flat after 10 miles. I enjoy the track finish to meet the family, and all then enjoy the festival in the park. Well done Dartford! It's the only half I run and sets me up nicely for full next week. Date of review: July 21, 2008
In short: Another superbly organised run. Thanks to all the Dartford Marshalls and water staions/ sponges! In full: Great run and superbly organised. My nearest half marathon to home always ensures my return! Today I shaved a few seconds off my Dartford best but to get a good personal time here you really have to put in some focus to your training and pre race preparation. The course and the summer weather can easily play tricks! Thanks Dartford Harriers a lovely day! Please can I ask that next year we get a good quality medal with a date on it! Simple things medals, but I think they make you feel good for some reason at the end of a very hard race!
In short: Hilly and hard, but great organization and nice view In full: I struggled around mile3-5,but the view I got to see after that was great! Amazing organization. Thanks, marshalls! Date of review: July 20, 2008
In short: Very happy with my performance. The event it self was very average! In full: No road signs indicating where the race start was or where there might be some parking.Drinks stations were very poorly organised with most of the "helpers" being kids. The t-shirt at the finish was apoor reward to give out and will probably be in th recycling within days! come on organisers! if you are going to charge big entry fees please try and get it right! having said all that on the plus the course was well marked out and scenic. In short: Challenging half, though don't I always say that!!!!!! In full: Any race in Kent offers a good training run due to a hill or 2! This had a couple of fairly big ones but nothing too bad. Organisation was good, marshalls encouraging and for a mainly spectator unfriendly course there were quite a few doted about and giving encouragment. The water stations were manned very well. Shame no medal as last years glass paperweight was very nice, much better than a t-shirt I will never wear again. Still the race was inexpensive compared to some and the course is a good training session. Date of review: July 20, 2008
