In short: Shame about the baggage drop
In full: I emjoyed the race itself and even got a PB on the course. The organisation at the end was chaotic though, could barely get over the finish line to join the queue for water. Baggage drop was hopeless and unmanned. My boyf. had his wallet and phone stolen from his bag, which kind of ruined the day.

In short: Some pleasant scenery, good training and a PB
In full: A few underpasses don't make an undulating/hilly race -I'd say predominantly flat.. try the Chesterfield Sprire 10 for a hilly race (its fab). Marshals great. I saw no problems with the organisation. And a pb in spite of the force 9 gales. Good race.

In short: I did it in 2008, and 2009, and will do it again in 2010
In full: The course is ok, challenging in places, and yeah, the wind was a bitch, but hey, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it and you would not have the sense of achievement at the end.

As for PB potential, well this year I managed to smash 6 minutes of my PB on this course even though some say it’s not flat and bottle necked. The only way you’re going get a flat course, with no bottle necks at some point during the race, is if the organisers closed the M1 near MK and we all ran along it.

It has been mentioned before, Sergeant Major CHIPPY, screaming at people to get their chip off "NOW" needs to consider going on a people skills course as he may need to get next year’s chip surgically removed, but don’t let HIM spoil the event, remember, you ran it, he didn’t...

The end funnel was a bit silly, but patience saw you through, allowing you a few minutes to feel the blood flow to your legs again.

As for the traffic, it took me all of 5 minutes to get home so I can’t complain but what do you expect when 3000 plus runners and guests descend on one location.

Those moaning about the organisation, have you tried to organise such an event!

Hail the NIKE MK Half Marathon, I will be back again next year.

In short: Flat route, makes for good PB potential. Strong winds this year though

In short: open spaces plus dual carriageways and a very nasty head wind. interesting first 1/2!
In full: My first ever race was the BUPA Great South last year and this was my first 1/2. Not sure how I expected this to compare but whilst not as grand an event, no major snags. Course seemed easy enough but a couple of sneaky climbs and the worst thing about the finish was the weather. Water stations not probs, wind was nasty but will be back next! thanks to the organisers

In short: Thanks to the marshalls but orgainsation could have been beter!
In full: Most of the other reviews have covered all the points that I would have raised.

Would like to do this next year but it depends on the organisational skills!!

In short: Poorly organised, particularly the finish!!!!!!!
In full: The finish was a disaster area. Runners queuing for drinks blocked the funnel again. Surely, the drinks station could be moved somewhere else so that those not wanting a drink can get passed.
Some marshals were good but many just stood there watching the post that they had presumably been sent there to warn runners about. Some audible warning and display on the post would be useful. (If you have a cricket box I suggest that you wear it next year).

In full: Race itself was good and on course marshalls cheerful and encouraging. End funnel useless again. When will theses guys learn about getting it right at the end . People saw me with my medal " hey how did you get that?" . One guy balling at people get your chips off NOW and then failing to actually help anyone or show where to put the thing. Terible lasting impression and sour taste in the mouth from an other wise good event.

In short: Not worth traveling for!
In full: This was suppose to be a training aid for the london marathon i am doing next month. It said a flat and fast course to i jumped at it! I wouldn't call that course flat! The wind was a bitch but that wasn't anyones fault! I was quite surprised to see people already walking before the 2 mile marker! At the second water stop i was needed lucozade but only found water! If i had known this I would have bought my own!
I found this race disappointing and i won't be back next year, i would expect a tad more from nike!
