In short: Find it hard to find a better half marathon In full: As a first timer running on my own, hard to explain how nervous I was the morning of the race. I needn't have worried as soon after arriving I was greeted by friendly Marshall's only too happy too help. The race organization was superb & throughout the run the marshals & support was over whelming & much needed when the legs started telling me to stop. At the finish line the expert organization continued. Can't praise everyone involved with the running of the event highly enough. Date of review: September 16, 2013

In full: Car parking good and near, enough toilets so no long queues, baggage and registration well organised. Started race on time. lovely scenic route with fabulous marshalls. Shame there were a few cars on country lanes but you cant have everything! by far my favourite race that ive done and PBs all round for the whole group of us! Back next year for definate. In short: perfect runners race In full: Being a veteran of probably about 100 races over the years this is probably the best I've ever done in terms of organisation, friendliness, support and value for money. Would highly recommend it well worth the trip from the South Wales valleys. Date of review: September 16, 2013
In short: Excellent race In full: Really enjoyed it despite me personally making a few dumb mistakes on the day. Very well organized, nice open field, will definitely be back next year. Date of review: September 16, 2013
In short: I don't repeat many races, but will be back for this one In full: As a seasoned half-marathoner, this is my kind of race. Cheap entry; cheap accommodation locally; beautiful town to visit for the weekend; easy parking; good starting area - seats, changing tents, lots of loos; good size of field - not cramped on the course, but never on your own; beautiful country roads; fantastically fast downhill finish that really gets the last bit out of your legs; fab medal and tee... If you are a beginner, I'd suggest you aim for 2hr or less or parts of the route get lonely. And the name caller as we were finishing - nice touch but there's not much point if you read the names off like a school register - please be a bit more enthused and encouraging!
I vaguely remember being around mile 7 to 9 and wondering a couple of times if I was going the right way as there was no-one around for what seemed like ages - luckily there were no turns without marshalls!
I'll be back again as races like this are very few! I hope it gets it rightful placing in the top 10 halfs again. Date of review: September 16, 2013
In short: Excellently organised and very friendly In full: I like this race (2nd time I have run this one) as it is small and friendly - well done Chippenham Harriers! I will be back next year. Date of review: September 16, 2013
In short: This is the 1st event on my calendar In full: I am local so another biased opinion but I do not think you can have much more praise than people who have run this event wanting to come back and recommending it to others. I have relatives in Belfast who have run this twice and want to run it again. Pleasant course, the right size field for the course, reasonable well supported for a smallish town and country course. Well organised and marshalled. Just two suggestions, could it not be the same weekend as the Bristol half & GNR and could there be time zones at the start. Thanks for an enjoyable event.
