In short: Great start to the year
In full: Did this as a warmup for London in April and it was well worth it. Really well organised and loads of support from the public and marshals. The guy handing out jelly babies at 11 miles was a star, he might have missed me as I "whizzed past" but he gave the next guy two and he shared with me, bless him!! The course is flat from about 2-7 miles but otherwise is largely undulating, no really long hills though so you can have a bit of a recovery! Was pleased with my time, 5 mins off my best but then I did give birth 7 months ago! There is a lot more parking at the clubhouse than you might think but to be fair they couldn't accommodate everyone if everyone brought a car so if you do drive, make sure there are at least 3 or 4 of you in one vehicle. A couple of minor points- could have done with more signage for the portaloos at the back, didnt know they were there and queued for about 15 mins for 2 loos in the clubhouse, also if they had given out binbags at the end we might not have got so cold as the finish isn't that near the car park. But overall, fantastic organisation, lots of food, drink and running goodies available, great atmosphere and very enjoyable day. Well done Helsby!!

In short: Good race - well worth the trip!
In full: Good day out - minor points, clutching at straws really.

water: 1st station at 4.5 miles was a bit far out for my liking, however was aware of this at the start.

parking: I came from the south and so parking up at the M56 services worked ok for me (very short bus trip to the start and regular service), however... many people weren't that bothered with this and parked up at the sports centre HQ and surrounding roads in some cases (i'd say a lot less than 50% parked at the services). There was more parking available than understood and I always find having my car handy near the start for storing valauables and other essentials advantageous. I will be stashing my car at the start next year.

In short: Just do it
In full: Fantastic experience, will be there next year. Could possibly have something to occupy children whilst race is on. ps I know a couple of fell runners who would be rolling on the floor laughing at the mention of 'hills'. Reminded me of the wheelchair slope to get in to our library.

In short: Fantastic Race
In full: This is a very well organised race with interesting scenary and quiet country roads. There are a few hills which make it challenging but the last 2 miles are downhill. The park and ride service works like a dream. Give yourself a big pat on the back Helsby.

In short: Great course and organisation.
In full: Course is scenic through the Cheshire countryside. There are a couple of hills to add interest but good times still very much on the cards. The organisation is great so you only have to worry about your run, and they're all friendly. A great way to start the year.

In short: Really nice, friendly event. Great scenery.
In full: A big event from a small club! Smoothly run and friendly. Well done for organising the weather. And beer too. Just need to work out how to run a bit faster now...

In short: Simply The Best
In full: This is without doubt the best organised race I have done (and I've done quite a few). Communication about the weather and conditions before was top notch. On the day from being picked up by coach at the services to being dropped off again everything was made so easy. Marshals were fantastic (especially the very lively 3 girls around 12 miles), crowds on route very encouraging, the goody bag was great and I just cant wait for next year. Helsby....Take a bow, you deserve it.

In short: Challenging yet motivating and fun
In full: My third time now and each time a little bit quicker, so I love this race! Very well organised race and surely lots of hard work behind the scenes so a big thankyou to everyone at Helsby. A perfect start to the years racing calendar. Should be a must for any local runner. Thanks again Helsby!
