In short: It could be really fast on a calm sunny day with maybe only half as much mud...
In full: Very well organised. The use of the Pyramid centre is definitely a big improvement, especially given the weather conditions.

No idea how I managed to miss the soup...

My fellow passengers on the train home would have benefited from me having a shower after the race, but at a ratio of 1 shower for 773 runners I decided that the rain was wet enough.

In short: Great route in the right weather!
In full: The organisation and general good will of the organisers and of the locals is great for this run. The scenic trip along the Southsea sea front would be lovely except... it was very windy, the rain horrendous, and every step on the way along the seafront was a real effort!
It was an uplifting finish, but I'd have preferred to do it in better weather.

In short: Interesting terrain makes for challenging run
In full: My first half marathon. Very well organized and Marshaled with great local support. Weather was as bad as it can be. The terrain was challenging ranging from mud, small rocks and slippery footpaths all good fun tho! The last 3km was the worst winds Ive ever experienced while running a race. Friendly runners all around will do it again.

In short: Bracing could be one word......
In full: .....another could be wet and windy, but hey you are running in February! Well marshalled and great value run. Loved the cake/energy bar in the goodie bag. Course was just as described and hot soup in the pyramids top notch, just what was needed. Well organised run and on a better day good pb potential.

In short: Top event, great scenery, great multi-terrain - shocking weather!
In full: This is a very well organised event. Nice seafront course, along a prom, in and out of a marina, across a harbour beach (muddy by name...), common land, roads, playing fields and back on the prom. Very varied.

Nice and flat so should be a PB special BUT the weather was a shocker. Non-stop rain was one thing but the wind, especially in the last 4 along the seafront, was a shocker! Running against a wind brick wall all added to the challenge.

Marshalling excellent (especially in the dreadful rain) but did wonder why the road crossing by Milton Common was missing someone.

Would definitely come back. In fact, I'm going to try the marathon in the December.

In short: wet and wild.
In full: Weather was challenging. Great route and lovely coastal scenery, which I may have taken more notice of on a less blustery day. Very well organised, big thank you to the Marshals and also to the onlookers who shouted encouragment. Jelly babies galore, toilets and water stations all well positioned. Just a normal day at the British seaside!

In short: Great organisation, awful AWFUL weather. :-( But very well organised!
In full: Saturday was a wonderful day, Sunday (Race day) was dreadful! Wet, very Windy, even a little hail. So that was horrible!

That said, it was well organised and friendly. Marchalls everywhere it mattered and course really clearly marked.

It was a great day despite the bad weather, thanks to the organisers!

In short: fabulous race but tough with the wind and rain
In full: enjoyed the off road sections and proudly showed off my mud splattered legs when i finished! the wind made it tough going but still enjoyed it - mostly traffic free which is always good. lovely and warm in the pyramids for before and after the race - the bar was open too!
