In short: Best UK marathon to date.
In full: In all aspects, this was a fantastic race. The organisation was second to none and the course was mostly flat through picturesque Chester and some lovely surrounding villages. To have road closures the whole way was a treat. There was a little sting in the tail with a tough hill at 24 miles, but that keeps you honest and I for one enjoyed it.

Couldn't honestly say there was one aspect of the race I didn't enjoy. Thoroughly recommended.

In short: Lots of quiet country lanes, but the support in the villages was really nice
In full: EVeryone I have spoken to since the race has said they found the race hard.

In short: Great race, very well organised indeed
In full: My first marathon, and probably my last. Start and finish on the race course, all roads with some unpleasant inclines at the end. Best thing was the atmosphere, helpful and encouraging marshalls and meeting the other runners.

Having closed roads makes it an easy race to enjoy. If I wanted to do another marathon this is the one I'd do again.

(I'm retiring as I went as fast as thought I coudl go without huge effort - 3:19)

In short: Terrific from start to finish-great organisation, a race for runners organised by runners
In full: One of the best organised races I have entered. The event ran like clockwork with everything considered. Ample parking, indoor holding area, plenty of on-course water/energy drinks and gels and a great course to boot-terrific

In short: Perhaps the perfect marathon course
In full: Great scenery, historic city start, picturesque villages, long flat sections through beautiful country and a few inclines for variety... and great finish too back at the race course. Excellent race and a new 11 minute PB!!

In short: Very well organised race with great support on the course
In full: As a local club runner I may have had more personal support on the course than other travelled runners, but it didn't feel like that Everyone was cheered along the way.

Great organisation all round and whilst undulating, definitely a course for a PB especially if you're relatively new to this distance.

Well done the team.
