In short: Felt more crowded than two years ago and less organised.
In full: I did this race a couple of years ago and thought it was a good, convenient, quick half marathon. Yesterday it felt like they had more runners than they cuold cope with. There did seem to be enough toilets though but some of them weren't clearly sign posted, but the baggage facilities were a bit slow. The marshals and the police did a good job of traffic control though.

In short: Good day out
In full: Negatives: 20 minute delay to the start was unacceptable (as the PA announcer, to be fair, was the first to admit). Entrance fee is high. And despite the best (much appreciated) efforts of the local police, traffic was a problem in places. (Although since the race brought the whole of brentwood to gridlock, i can understand some drivers getting angry!)

Positives: Fast course, with no hills to speak of, and attractive enough considering its closeness to london. Nice wide start to avoid any congestion. Good crowd support at key points. Good marshalling and accurate mile markers.

I will probably do this race again, as it's so local for me, but the sad truth is that brentwood is just too built up these days for a race of this size

In short: Could have been orgainised better from start to finish. Runners were hunting around for the bottle water at the finish, should have been put near the medals.

In short: Poorly managed!
In full: No idea where anything was at the start toilets etc, too many non runners at the start and traffic infringment shocking at times-I was almost killed by an ABC Taxis driver - call yourself a professional! I kept wondering where the hill was, it is only the last 1/2 mile really and the rest is fairly flat. My first 1/2, not sure if I would do it again due to the lack of organisation at start and finish but many thanks for all the support from the public and the jelly babies were most appreciated in Hook End!

In short: came back after a few years away, won't come back again!
In full: I used to find this run amusing in the way it was run, obviously not by a running club or even anyone who had ever been to another run, but hey, they did their best.

This one though - you could'nt park nearer than a 15 min walk and Brentwood is a notoriously difficult place to park. I'll let other people decide on the queues, I enter in advance and don't bother with baggage areas, but it was not pretty to watch.
The actual run is a nice one and I had no problems, but then I've done it 10+times.
As to value, this is a fund raising event, its not aimed at runners, the organisers want to make the maximum amount for charity - so they allow far more entries than they can cope with, and charge far more than the going rate. Perfectly acceptable and a great success for them.
For me, never again!!!!

In short: Even though this is a Charity race, I didn't find we got much value.
In full: By the end of the race traffic was really dangerous, as many of us were too dangerous to pay attention

The inexistent goody bag, and post-run drinks / energy bars / fruits will not invite many to repeat next year

This is the first time in 5 years I have been running that I see a race start time delayed.
