In short: Managed a personal best, oddly, in spite of hills and rain

In short: A tough and very wet race.
In full: Great value for money. The weather was awful but that made me more determined to finish.
Well done to Ryde Harriers and all the marshals who helped out on the day.
Strange medal though.

In short: Loads of History but tough
In full: Ok the the organisers cannot help the rain and did a very good marshalling job considering the main roads used. The Prize giving was fab with the Guy who won the original marathon in 1957 giving out prizes. It makes a Fab day out for any club.

In short: A lot of traffic and vile weather
In full: The race would have been ot more fun if the weather had been just a little better. Hills were ok except for the last one, it is the only time I have ever been pleased to see Tesco. Thanks to the people who let me tag along behind them!

In short: Friendly and well-intentioned. Small entry and nasty traffic throughout can make it rather lonely. You need to be brave for the hills.
In full: Epic rainfall and steady wind made 2006 especially challenging, I guess, but this is still a tough, tough course. Hills throughout and a course which the runners have to share with traffic from the off (no matter how considerate the drivers were) make this one for the brave or daft. Some hard-core support and friendly marshalling was very welcome but whoever designed the medal was on something more than endorphins !

In short: wet, windy,& hilly ! very hilly...
In full: the horrendous rain and strong winds made this hilly course seem like 3 miles longer than it really was !!! Well organised and friendly - but a very demanding course.

In short: Wet, windy but superb organisation - great race
In full: It's a challenging course - 1500ft of climbing, but the organisation is faultless - well they've had 50 years of practice!

One negative is the amount of traffic but with the relatively small field (300) this wasn't too much of a problem
