In short: Good day out - got a PB so, happy with the overall day, although there was some confusion with the timing of the event, other than that friendly and good atmosphere. Date of review: October 22, 2007

In short: a good race!! In full: I dont usually review a race but this one was really enjoyable, flat, very nice scenery, not too crowded and well organised starting from a lovely sports centre. Cheers! Date of review: October 21, 2007

In short: Well organised, I'm surprised more people don't do it In full: Nice route, mostly along a cycle/footpath and very little along a quiet road. A little depressing at the end with an added loop to make the distance.
Nice medal and four water stations (in plastic cups and a little mean with the water)
Well worth doing

In short: Good race - scenic, well organised, friendly and almost traffic free. Deserves to be more popular. In full: 'Out & back' (more or less) route primarily on tarmac cycleways up the River Lune from Salt Ayre LC just out of Lancaster City Centre. Starts and finishes on the track, which is always welcome, and there is no slope anywhere on the course with a claim to be a hill.
Only 'gripe' would be the slightly contrived routing towards the end which, in order to make up the distance, requires runners to follow the cycleway past the LC for what feels like forever before doubling back. Personally, I'd have preferred to have the extra distance added somewhere else - maybe a loop on the quayside? Date of review: October 21, 2007

In short: Great race with picture postcard scenery In full: A really good all round course and i was surpised by the low turnout compared to the half i did in newark in august. This made for a more personal race for me with the field bein as strung out as it was.
The scenery really was awesome, gentle rolling hills and the stretches along the cycle path were very pleasant with the autumn weaather complementing. making for near-perfect conditions for running. Date of review: October 21, 2007

In short: scenic In full: The route was amazing, nice medal at the end. From a scenic point of view, the best I have done. I could be about to commit libel here, but in my opinion, the race was short, perhaps about 3/4 of a kilometer. Date of review: October 21, 2007

In short: really fast course but ultra low key In full: Incredibly flat course, well sheltered with a nice, low key friendly, budget feel to it....you suspect the race could be much bigger than it is (compare it to Wilmslow, for example) but that the organisers want to keep it a secret! In short: Great race, very scenic run along cyle paths and old railway lines In full: Well marshalled course. Great PB potential as it's fairly flat. Runs through Lancaster and nearby villages over river bridges. Date of review: September 4, 2006
