In short: Can't wait to do this one again!!!
In full: Loved every minute of this race. Was apprehensive at the start as I did not know what to expect. But all I can say is my calfs are certainly feeling it today lol. Great organisation and overall good time had, and well done to all that finished.

In short: One of the highlights of the running year
In full: I don't do so many running events these days due to cycling but this is one I would not miss. It is a hard, cunningly routed run through beautiful wooded trails. A lot of club runners but also a fair few novices up for a challenge. Very friendly atmosphere, well marshalled and cheap - exactly what a lot of races are not these days.

In short: If you're not mentaly strong or don't do many hills i training, this could miff you off. Wouldn't relish doing it in inclimate weather. Nice ciricket field to have a relaxig picnic on after.

In short: Stunning course, tough hills, well organised race
In full: These never-ending hills were hard work. I decided to walk up some of them to spare my energy, and sustain a good 'recuperation'time. Plenty of water stations (well needed today!), very frequent and well positioned! The course was superb, we are going to come back with our moutain bikes soon! Good facilities (changing rooms/ toilets), and very encouraging marshalls all the way. See u next year!

In short: Good, challenging race, beautiful views
In full: I did the Midsummer Munro in 20 mins more three weeks ago so this - by definition - was easier but the hills, if not as steep, were relentless. I don't recall any flat sections at all - you were either climbing or descending. Minor quibble - a lot of the so-called mile markers said things like 'Up to mile 8' so it was not clear exactly where the actual markers were - this made it difficult to judge one's pace without a Garmin or some such. That aside, great venue, some really stagering views, and I will certainly be back both next year and in-between for picnics!

In short: Hard, hard hard, but great all the same!
In full: Great race, but very very hard - the hills just go on for miles and miles. The scenery was amazing especially at mile 9, and the marshals and supporters (mainly my mum & dad) were great - thank you. My time was terrible, but on some of the hills I was going so slowly that ants were overtaking me! :-)
