In short: Actually rather nice ! In full: Yes it's run mostly round the streets and underpasses of Bracknell, but some of it is suprisingly pretty - lots of greenery - and it meant a good smattering of crowd support most of the way around.
It was a bit hot for me and the mile long hill at about half way made my life a misery but it was my own fault for going off too fast!
A nice rice, good sized field, well organised, cheap and a suprisingly good goody bag. Date of review: May 27, 2009
In short: friendly atmosphere, encouraging marshals, more hills than I thought In full: My first HM race, very impressed with the atmosphere, the friendly marshals and the goody bag. Date of review: May 26, 2009
In short: Really enjoyed it! In full: This was my first half-marathon. I found the terrain fairly easy and teh organisation was excellent! Loads of marshals, lots of water stations (though was a long trek to the end after the last one at about 10 miles) and a great atmosphere. Thanks! Date of review: May 20, 2009
In short: A truely enjoyable occasion In full: A deceptive course, more demanding than it first appears. I started out far too fast and consequently missed my PB by 6 measley seconds! None the less it was a really great occasion. The supporters were fantastic, it was great to be shouted on so enthusiastically by so many kids all round the course, and the locals seemed genuinely pleased to see us running by. The number of water stations was excellent and well managed and the sponges were a great idea. And the run into the finish was warm and welcoming with a family picnic atmosphere. The only things that let it down for me were what I felt was a poor goody bag, and most frustratingly, the almost useless map in the booklet. I was entirely unable to 'walk the route' beforehand. Please can we have a larger, clearer map next year. However that didn't detract from truely enjoyable and very well organised occasion. There's no question I'll be back! Date of review: May 16, 2009
In short: Great event - can I sign up for next year NOW?? In full: A cracker of an event, helped by wonderful weather. Well supported round the course with plently of water (& sponge) stations. Spectators handing out jelly babies. Super goodie bag. Roll on next year. Well done (& thank you) Bracknell for putting on a great event. Date of review: May 14, 2009
