In short: The most beautiful half marathon course
In full: This was my first time running the Water of Life Half Marathon and it was a fantastic race. The course is absolutely beautiful....along the tow paths, through a field of sheep with numerous kissing gates to pass through and several narrow bridges to cross. Although it's quite a small field I had to queue on occasion, so don't treat this as a PB course. The terrain is quite varied with gravel paths, marshy fields, muddy paths and the odd incline so if road running is your thing it's not to be recommended. The marshalls were great, so enthusiastic and lovely to have them playing their bongo drums en route. And what's more the race was organised like clockwork. Plenty of parking, superb facilities at the sports centre for changing and the race started bang on time. I'll enter again!

In short: Stunning
In full: Scenery is stunning. Quite tough if you're used to roads / paths as the majority is on grass. Music from the African drummers at the start, 5 miles, 8 miles and the end was really uplifting. I'll definitely be back next year.

In short: superb off road race with the friendliest/craziest/happiest marshalls I have ever encountered
In full: A super off-road race in glorious sunshine in glorious countryside. Purple Patch don't half organise some cracking off road races. You'll never record personal bests but you will go home a happier person than when you arrived. The marshalls all seemed to be in happy/clappy land (uplifting for runners) while the band at five miles and half way were super. Great day out by the Thames - and all for a good cause.
