In short: For a first timer like myself, the atmosphere was great. The local support really helped to make it special.
In full: Everything about the race was well organised (even the weather staying dry and sunny). The route was good for getting on with running, only a couple of smallish hills. The marshalls and supporters in the villages we passed were great. Great cameraderie among the fellow runners. Certainly one I could see myself coming back to. :)

In short: A great marathon ran in the Cheshire countryside
In full: If you want a well organised and relatively flat marathon (apart from the 2 small hills at 24 miles) then this is for you. Starting and finishing on the race course and running the majority of the course through beautiful Cheshire and North Wales countryside.

In short: Well-organised, scenic and interesting route and perfect weather for racing.
In full: This is a very well-organised marathon - convenient parking, great bag storage, good pre-race information, excellent and friendly marshaling and well-spaced hydration stations. The start through the historic city of Chester is inspiring and the rural sections generally flat but scenic. The race deserves its growing popularity. The long-sleeve technical shirt is a nice bonus.

In full: Great race, enjoyable and not to hill. There's a definate PB potential here although not this year I was finding my way back from a ankle injury but it gives me a reason to be back next year.
