In short: A great run in the South, sun, sea sand and hills! In full: Congratulations to the organisers, beautiful course (if a bit heavy on the traffic for the first 3 miles), faultless organisation and showers at the end. Loved it Date of review: January 30, 2006

In short: Great 1st marathon and managed it with no training. Used to live there so knew the course well but need to have insider knowledge of the hills which can be a killer, especially at 23 miles. A quiet, pictureesque route for those who like the solitude. Date of review: October 6, 2005

In short: Tough but rewarding! In full: I was expecting hills but crikey! I found it a tough course but I actually really enjoyed this race. Set in beautiful scenery in places, with very friendly locals (never have I been cheered so much in one race!), I certainly recommend this race. See you next time! Date of review: August 23, 2005

In short: Lovely scenery, well organised, excellent race In full: Really well orgainsed, brilliant scenery, and a nice challenging route, very hot and sunny, my only regret was not taking water with me, altho I will say the water points were excellent. Well done and thanks to the marshalls Date of review: August 22, 2005

In short: great run, with 3 long drags, there are many small hills, but the three hardest are at the 11 mile stage, 16 mile stage and the back breaker is the long long drag at the 23 mile stage, gop for it, it will put hairs on your chest... Date of review: June 3, 2005

The marshals are very patient and they do not put a time limit on the race. Great news for us fun runners.
The hills provide a good challenge the more experienced runners who want to test themselves.
I'm told that next year will be the 50th time this race has been held! There are big plans being made and the organisers have already attracted sponsorhip for 2006. I'm looking forward to it already. Date of review: May 28, 2005
