In short: Excellent organisation from start to finish In full: Very well organised. A smooth start helped by three starting pens. Two tough climbs each lasting a mile in the first half but thereafter downhill or flat save for the last few hundred metres. Abundance of well organised feeding stations (water, gatorade, sponges). Great start/finish in the town centre. And perfect weather too! Date of review: May 10, 2009
In short: Improved on last year In full: The wider route from about 7.5 miles was improved on last years running down the uneven footway to providing a lane in the carriageway. Date of review: May 10, 2009
In short: Very well organised, good support. In full: Good atmosphere, very well organised from start to finish. Plenty of water stations, sponges etc. Good support and the volunteers did an excellent job.
In short: Well organised, good support, quite a tough course In full: My 3rd or 4th Leeds Half, and my main criticism in the past has been addressed - the start. Pens for sub-75, 85 and 95 mean that a reasonably swift getaway is achievable. Lots of water stations, sponges (brilliant!) and a course that's fair although challenging. Make it to 7 miles within sight of your target and as long as you can hold it together along Kirkstall Rd you'll get there, as there's a few "easy" fast miles to be had. Date of review: May 10, 2009
In short: Enjoyable Run In full: The Leeds Half Marathon lived up to my expectations. Today's weather gave great conditions for running a half marathon. The organisation was great, god atmosphere and plenty of drink stops.
Thanks to the lady who gave me an orange slice, I reckon that cut a few seconds of my time Date of review: May 10, 2009
